Customer Questions & Answers

how do you remove these from the fixture?

Asked by: Anonymous
Just pull them straight out. They click in place when you install them, so just un-click them out of place straight out when you want to uninstall them.

how many hours is this lamp rated for?

Asked by: Jeremy
They make the wild claim it lasts for 11 years at 3 hours a day. We have to replace them about one a year with one hour of usage. Junk!

18-Watt Soft White (2,700K) CFLni 4-Pin G24q-2 CFL Light Bulb is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Misleading information on package I have been using these CFL's for over a year now. We remodeled our bathroom and installed a combination light, heater, and ventilation fan. The unit uses two (2) 18 watt PL-C 4-PIN light bulbs. The package says that the bulbs life should be 10,000 hours, we end up replacing one of the bulbs every 2 months. this gets pricey when you're paying almost 7 bucks per bulb.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as expected in bathroom recessed lighting I have these installed in my bathroom recessed lighting. I think I remember my contractor saying my city or state of California required that fluorescent lighting be used in bathrooms. They work as expected, but lasted only about 2 years the last time around, with normal usage. I thought CFL was supposed to last a lot longer. I have the old style nicer looking non-cfl recessed lights all over the house that have lasted much longer and are dimmable, so don't believe the hype about long life of CFLs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't last anywhere close to what they say. The light in our hall uses this bulb and I needed to replace the original bulb that came with the light fixture last year (2013). The original bulbs lasted at least 5 years. This replacement didn't last a year. 24 hours a day 365 days equals 8,760 hours. My hall light is on usually 3 hours a day which is less than 2,000 hours in a year. I should have gotten 4 more years with this bulb. So I think the 10,000 hours is greatly inflated.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap Junk I'm stuck having to use these in my Panasonic ceiling light, and have to replace them both about every year, not eleven (!) as they claim on the package. Phillips should be embarrassed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Happy with Phillips Claim on Hours and Long Life I Have Been Very Dissatisfied with this Bulb Having to Replace Every 9 to 10 Months Have had Vent/light fixture in Bathroom For Three Years already and spent More on Bulbs then actual Vent/Light Fixture.' Now I Know why they Made it Easy to Replace Cause your always replacing'

Rated 4 out of 5 by from the life of the lamp should be much longer, We use it in our bathroom over head fixture. The overall quality is good. The packaging is nice, easy to find. It plugs in good and snug and gives off plenty of light. I would like to see an LED replacment for this product some day.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 10,000 hours? I have 2 Panasonic bathroom fans that each use 2 of these bulbs. They last maybe a year. Nowhere near the 10,000 hours the package says. 4 bulbs a year for about 5 years. At $7 per, it starts to add up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Quality really poor; bulb life is poor they do work. I have a Panasonic Ventilator Fan/Light combo in each of two bathrooms; they each use two of these CFLs. One bathroom hardly gets used, so the life is fairly reasonable. The master bathroom probably sees about one and a half hours use per day. That works out to a little over 500 hours usage per year, and these things barely last two years! When the first bulb failed two weeks ago, I called Philips and wound up talking to their tech support department. That person told me that the bulb wasn't rated for use in a fan. Since that is the only type that Home Depot had in stock, I wound up purchasing one anyway. Two weeks later the second bulb in the unit failed. Both bulbs had only about two years of usage on them. The replacement was cracked (I didn't notice it when I first opened the package), so it was a no-go from the start. When I returned it and complained about the overall quality, the store manager was really nice, and he not only refunded the money for the one I returned, but he gave me a new one as a promo. That one didn't have a crack, but it didn't work any way, and I tried it in both of my fixtures in known good sockets. Moral of the story: Don't use Philips 18w PL-C bulbs.
