While LEDs are still the newest and most expensive option in the lighting industry they have come leaps and bounds in the quality of light that is cast from them. I purchased 3 of these bulbs for my large pendant style hanging light I have going down to my basement floor level. I wanted something bright but not glaring and soft but not blue. I was very pleased with the amount and type of light these put out. You pay a little bit more up front but in the long run you'll save not only in electrical bills but replacing bulbs a lot less. Also there is no warmup period like CFLs and there is also no harm in switching them on and off without the proper warmup. LEDs are also more size relative to their counterpart incandescent bulbs as they don't have that large transformer base like CFLs do. Dimmable too with a dimmer switch made for LED technology.

Ditch that old night light bulb, spend less, and see the toys your child left on the floor. These are not intended to be night lights, but the base fits and the photo sensor turns them on and off. So if you have frequent guests or children/pets who leave your floors littered . . . shed a little more night light on the area.

Dim! I should have purchased 40 or 60 watt equivalent. If I would have pick them up in the store I would have returned them.

I like the concept however in my chandelier the base of the light is exposed and looks horrible. It may look better in a light fixture where the bottom of the bulbs are hidden.

Would I recommend this product; Yes with reservations. I use the CFL bulbs and wanted to have something which I could use like an incandescent bulb meaning turn on turn off without the CFL starter using too much electric. This bulb while similar in usage is WAY overpriced. Reminds me of the CFL prices when they first came out. So if you use the lights for more than 5 minutes I'll keep buying the CFL's. There is only one room in my house where we go in and out enough to get close to justifying the price of this bulb.

These bulbs feature great warm color and steady flicker-free output (we are not using a dimmer). We bought a 4-pack for our candelabra lamp. I was nervous that these bulbs would be too big for the wire gripper shades, but they work fine because these LED bulbs are only slightly bigger than filament 40W bulbs. I am disappointed they are not rated for outdoors because I would buy a whole bunch more. I highly recommend these because they provide the look and feel of an incandescent bulb, do not produce high heat, and use much less energy.

The lights was very bright white, and with the dimmer turn down low they was still a very bright white.
There is no dimming of the color at all on the led lights, and they call them soft white?

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by quetzal good light but may need special dimmer
I tried to just use my existing dimmer with these bulbs and the dimmer turns out to be incompatible with them (flickering). To be fair, Philips lists compatible dimmers on its web site and mine was not one of the compatible ones.
So, I will try to find a dimmer that is compatible.
This is a common problem with LED bulbs; I just happen to have gotten away with using existing dimmers and this was the first time I had a problem.
So, good bulb, but be prepared that you may need to replace your dimmers to work with it.
