No. Absolutely not. You need a 35 watt sodium fixture. Anything else would be a fire hazard.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Last one good for 6 years Installed in 1939 street light in my backyard. The street light came from power plant built(Denver City, Texas) in 1939 and the light and pole was installed then. It originally had an Incandescence bulb before December 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by These Bulbs Last for an Average of 5 Years I have been servicing these bulbs for more than 25 years around my home. I have (8) 35-Watt High Pressure Sodium lights around my home (3 post lights and 5 down house lights). They last an average of 5 years or more, which is great for my hard to reach house fixtures. They are always been left on from dusk to dawn 365 days of the year. So they have been a great energy saver over the 25+ years. June 30, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bulb color is not irritating to drivers Last bulb lasted about 4-5 years with nightly use. January 3, 2012
