Before buying the product I was worried about its brightness, but these light bulbs are just as bright as 50W halogen that I replaced in my 4in recessed ceiling lights, at a fraction of the wattage. Using my existing dimmer switch, the bulbs do not dim as much as the halogens did (about 50% brightness at the lowest dimmer setting), but I didn't attempt to modify my dimmer since I don't intend on using the function anyways. Philips 3000K color temperature is whiter than most CFL or incandescent bulbs, but I find the color to be just right, giving out a very pure near-white color which makes the bulb appear brighter and not bluish at all. I have replaced bulbs in my kitchen lights and many lamps to Philips brand LED 3000K color temperature and found them a much better choice than halogen or CFL.
So far I cannot speak for the life of the bulb, but I kept all the packaging in case I need the warranty.

After trying out 10+ different LED lights, we settled for the Phillips LEDs.
They are well made,
They are of similar size as incandescent bulbs,
They have similar light tone and brightness.
Would buy again.
NOTE: DO YOUR RESEARCH before buying LED lights. Try ONE bulb in the room you are upgrading, before buying several.
TEST THE LIGHT in daytime AND nighttime to make sure the brightness and color tone is what you want - there ARE DIFFERENCES from make and model to others.
PAY ATTENTION to the light direction. Some LEDs are directional. Do not get a ceiling light and expect good results in your table lamp....it does not work....

I purchased these lights to replace the MR16 halogen bulbs in our "wall washer" high hats. The color of these LEDS is identical to the halogen bulbs they replaced. They are a very warm light, not white or blue, but a very bright natural light. We purchased two bulbs to start with and went back and bought 6 more after we saw they were the correct color. They also make this same color bulb in different sizes. The 4 watt bulbs will not light up a room, but are more for accent lights. If these will be your primary light source in a room, get the 10 watt bulbs. They are expensive, but compared to the halogen bulbs, they will pay for themselves in less than a year. And with a proper LED dimmer switch, they will dim all the way down to a dim glow without dropping out.
