Answer:
That is the color temperature and it is not useful for the plant lamps. The CCT is relevant for white light sources and helps compare against other white light sources. This lamp technically does not have this rating since they are not used for general lighting. It’s close to 2600K but is irrelevant with this lamp

I have a kitchen ceiling fixture with 2 bulbs. Want to keep a few plants on top of my fridge. Should I replace only one bulb with this, or both? Are they dimmer than a regular bulb?

Answer (1)

Answer:
They are a WAY different color and it will look strange if the 2 lamps in a fixture are different. Plants have entirely different spectral needs than we do, and grow lamps are tuned to that.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 20 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Aquarium and Plant display bulb. Although I was using this as a "grow" light, I think that's not it's designed intent. It worked fine in my application, but I still want a plant "grow" light, not a "display" light. May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Keeps plants healthy. During the winter, it is imperative to keep many indoor and outdoor plants healthy and vigorous. These light bulbs provide sufficient light to keep my orchids, herbs, and houseplants growing well. February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly the right replacement bulb It helped to bring in the old bulb to make sure we had the correct replacement, then Home Depot discarded our old bulb for us, a helpful convenience. The new bulb fits and works perfectly! February 10, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Had some problems I bought, I think, 4 of these bulbs. I didn't check them but about a week later, as I was installing them, I found one of the bulbs had the contact pins bent on one end. It would not lite. I took it back and exchanged it for another bulb. However I found about 4 more bulbs with bent contact pins. I did find a good one and brought the bent ones to the service desk. December 24, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Greenhouse Great bulbs I use them in my Greenhouse business for light December 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Reliable Bulb Great for Wintering Plants There is nothing really to say except that the bulbs are excellent quality bulbs at a fair price. I used them to provide light for outdoor flowering shrubs being kept indoors for the winter. They have always been reliable bulbs with no problems. Even though last year's bulbs were still working, I still replace the bulbs every fall whether they are needed or not to ensure that the plants receive a good strong light. December 9, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Quality product I bought 4 of these bulbs to get 2 to work. Poor Quality, not what you expect from Phillips and Home Depot. Neither of the bad bulbs would fire, just lit up on the ends. I had to have them for my citrus trees inside due to cold weather. December 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Grow lights Had to mail order these grow lights. Home Depot did not/does not carry 48 inch T8 grow lights in their stores. Ordered three and they came several days before the predicted delivery date. Two of the three tubes worked. Trying to figure out how to get a replacement for the broken/non-functioning tube.
