Answer:
That is the color temperature and it is not useful for the plant lamps. The CCT is relevant for white light sources and helps compare against other white light sources. This lamp technically does not have this rating since they are not used for general lighting. It’s close to 2600K but is irrelevant with this lamp

I have a kitchen ceiling fixture with 2 bulbs. Want to keep a few plants on top of my fridge. Should I replace only one bulb with this, or both? Are they dimmer than a regular bulb?

Answer (1)

October 15, 2015
Answer:
They are a WAY different color and it will look strange if the 2 lamps in a fixture are different. Plants have entirely different spectral needs than we do, and grow lamps are tuned to that.

Would have liked the distance to be greater from the light to the plants but that is our problem not the product. So far so good. Had it in place since 12/3/16

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Plant Light Lights are doing what they are supposed to do so far. I am turning them on and off using a timer with no issues. Plants seem to be doing well under them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not suitable for aquariums This light is fine for ordinary household use, but is not appropriate for aquariums. It is a "warm white" bulb at 2700K and an aquarium requires a bulb of at least 5000K, otherwise plants will die and algae will thrive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps plants healthy. During the winter, it is imperative to keep many indoor and outdoor plants healthy and vigorous. These light bulbs provide sufficient light to keep my orchids, herbs, and houseplants growing well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plant Fluorescent Light Builbs I use these lights to enhance my indoor vegetable growing cycles. I use the T-12 size because I have repurposed my shop lights to now function as grow lights. There are more efficient and brighter models, but it worked well within my budget

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly the right replacement bulb It helped to bring in the old bulb to make sure we had the correct replacement, then Home Depot discarded our old bulb for us, a helpful convenience. The new bulb fits and works perfectly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Aquarium and Plant display bulb. Although I was using this as a "grow" light, I think that's not it's designed intent. It worked fine in my application, but I still want a plant "grow" light, not a "display" light.
