Philips 22.5-Watt 4 ft. T8 LED Linear cool white (4000K) light bulb is ideal for residential use in garages workshops, basements, as well as for commercial use in general, decorative and architectural lighting. It provides a cool white light that is ideal for work-like environments and contains no mercury for easy disposal. Philips LED Linear light bulb is the ideal replacement for your typical T8 Linear Fluorescent, using about 45% less energy. Purchase of a ballast driver is required. Use Philips model number 500108 or 500090. Both model numbers use ballast number ICN-2P60-SC, sold separately.

Why are these bulbs 3x the cost of the 16.5W T8 LED's? Why are they discontinued?

They are the only T8 LED bulb that's as bright as the flourescent equivalent!

Why is HD's online price for this product more expensive than other sites? i.e. http://www.bulbconnection.com/ViewSIMItemDetail/bcrw/simid/4964/item.html
