I installed twelve 2-bulb 4-foot T8 fluorescent fixtures in my garage. I love the electronic ballast and T8 bulbs - they light up instantly, even at 25 degrees F, and they never flicker. They take a few minutes to warm up to full brightness in this cold weather, but after that they throw plenty of high-quality light.

Purchased 10 bulbs and installed them in 5 new fixtures. Less than 300 hours of use and two of the bulbs have failed in different fixtures. It is extremely doubtful that they will achieve an average life of 36000 hours as advertised. I am replacing them with another brand when they fail.

I purchased the case of 10 units at the same time I purchased several new shop light fixtures - and, yes, the fixtures are specifically for T8 lamps. Over the course of a year, I have needed to replace at least 5 lamps due to failure (using the "spares" from the case plus additoinaly purchased Phillips lamps). Typical use is a few hours a day, so nothing extreme there, just apparently poor quality.
When first installed, these lamps did not reach full intensity for quite some time. A bit of research suggested that they needed a "break in" period, so, after leaving them on constantly for a day or so, they did immediatly reach full brightness when switched on.
Since I was very dissasatisfied with these lamps, when ANOTHER went out, I purchased a pair of GE lamps from another store. I cannot speak for thier life yet, but they instantly, right-out-of-the-box reached full brightness.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Verified Reviewer Nice upgrade...
We just upgraded to these over the other 4' T8 Philips bulb Home Depot carries(Model # 383513, F32T8 TL741 ALTO) -- 150 more lumens from the same amount of watts and significantly higher CRI; 85 vs 78 of the old bulbs. These costs more, but considering how infrequently we change fluorescent tubes, it's definitely worth the money for brighter, better quality light.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ManateeMan Great color and CRI
Just installed light fixture SKU 260-349 (UPC 046335942493). This fixture's literature recommends F32T8 4100K lamps with 10,000 hours of life and Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 80 or higher. These bulbs meet or exceed all these recommendations. When we installed these bulbs, we were impressed at the improved light versus the previous bulbs used. Light is whiter and colors appear truer. Highly recommended!
