Customer Reviews

4 ft. T8 32-Watt Cool White Linear Fluorescent Light Bulb (10-Pack) is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from started failing within 2 months, almost all burned out within a year, and killed 2 ballasts Bought this 10 pack last year for a kitchen with 8 bulbs. Within 2 months bulbs started failing, getting black marks on the ends, and one of the 4-bulb t8 ballasts failed with a pop and burning smell. The ballast brand was "Advance" which also seems to be made by Phillips. Also put the bulbs in a 2-bulb T8 garage shop light, and that generic ballast immediately popped with a burning smell. Within a year maybe 2 bulbs are still working, both with black marks. Replaced the failed ballasts with GE brand ballasts that are still working so far, and trying Sylvania t8 bulbs now from the L store.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Availability & Specifications I purchased this pack of bulbs today, September 5, 2010. I had gone to the local store to buy item 205450 for $19.99 but decided there was no good reason to spend the additional money, as this package was $14.97. The specs on the package differ from the info on the website, so I thought I'd give you the correct figures. First, the product IS available in northern Virginia, even though the web site says it is not. The bulb life is 30,000 not 20,000 hours. Output is 2800 lumens, color temperature is 4100K (labeled 'cool white'), though I don't think that is particularly 'cool' as the other product is labeled 'neutral/3500K'. The color rendering index is 78. By the way, 'T8' is the diameter, namely 8/8" or 1 inch. Whatever bulbs you select based on the information on this site, you should confirm that the specs have not changed by reading the packaging. I gave this product 4 stars because I have absolutely no experience with it but wanted to acknowledge the good price and specs. I hope it turns out to be a 5 star product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not lasting Great price for these bulbs. Unfortunately, 3 out of 10 have failed within about 6 months in our office (8 hours/day, 5 days/week- different fixtures). Bulbs in our office usually last 4-7 years. Maybe we just got a bad batch. Called Philips and they are refunding us for 3 bulbs, but I don't have much confidence the others will last.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will Not Turn On Bought a 10 pack to save some money but when I installed the the bulbs they were yellow and would not turn on so I tried another set of bulbs from my other lights and they worked fine so I know it's not the fixture. More wasted time to bring these back to the store!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not too yellow, not too blue! I first tried this cool white bulb in the two pack before committing to the larger 10 pack. It hits the middle ground in providing light that isn't too warm nor too cool on the light spectrum. I use it in my laundry room where our two bulb panel is able to illuminate stains well. In our garage, we have this 4100K light next to some much warmer 3500K lights that cast a yellow or peachy glow. Although color discernment isn't as big an issue in the garage as in the laundry room, the 4100K also provides more (perceived?) brightness which is a plus when poking through bins of screws. This might be better contrast due to the whiter color. The next highest light yields a light that is way too blue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lights seem to flicker a lot but when they work they provided good value The lghts are ok but they seem to flicker a lot when they are turned on. Good value for the money I paid per light.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from They don't last. I installed two 4-bulb fixtures in my garage. Usage averages less than 2 hours/day. The light level when new is fine great but 4 of 8 bulbs died within a year. I am switching brands.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from JUNK Worst lights ever. Have used 6 of these in different rooms. Longest one lasted 70 days. Also half the lights do not light up in the middle of the bulb. Total waste of money.
