Customer Questions & Answers

is there an LED replacement that is compatible for the F32t8 alto collection /TL741 alto collection

is there an LED replacement that is compatible for the F32t8 alto collection /TL741 alto collection
Asked by: apollo
There are LED replacements available for T8 fluorescents, but in my experience they are a waste of money. They often won't work depending on the ballast in your fixture, or won't work for long. It really makes more sense from an operational standpoint, an economic standpoint, a labor standpoint, and an energy standpoint to replace the entire fixture with an LED fixture. At least, that is my history trying it both ways.

How manyk kilowatts per does bulb use

Asked by: Randall
As the lamp states, it operates (on a reference ballast) at 32 watts. The lamp is then technically operating at 0.032 kilowatts. If you are looking for kilowatt hours so you can compute the energy cost. In that case, you can multiply the kW rating (0.032) by the number of operating hours per year (say 4000) and would get kW hour (128 kWhour per lamp).

I needed a t8 in a warm white (3000k) for kitchen under the cabinets. Looks like box was dropped somewhere in shipping and all the bulbs (but one) have the pins broken on one side. Will take back to store for exchange. Gave bulbs four stars because the bulbs are/will be just what I need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from cellent Kitchen Light for Open Floorplan! I purchased a 10 pack of these two years ago and installed 4 in a new fixture on a vaulted ceiling over my kitchen. The warm light looks great in the room, and blends well with the task lighting in the family room and dining area that share the same open space. These lights start up instantly and are immediately at full brightness, and there has been no diminishing of light intensity after 2 years of using these lights an average of 10 hours per day. The 3000k color is warm and inviting, and the 3950 lumens per bulb is plenty for all kitchen prep and cooking activities with no additional lighting. Highly recommended!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bulbs were ok, customer service was not. Purchased a 10 pack of bulbs and installed 6 new t8 light fixtures. Couldn't get one of the new fixtures to work, rechecked wiring etc, everything looked fine. Tried replacing the new bulb with another and eureka it worked . Problem was a defective bulb. Ok, got through that but when I went back to Home Depot expecting to get the defective bulb replaced I was told I would have to bring back all ten and get a new 10 pack. I wasn't about to do that, and I just asked the clerk to through away the defective bulb. Not a big expense but the fact that Home Depot didn't stand behind the product really annoyed me. I will have no problem looking at Lowe's now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bulbs did not last anywhere near time stated In March of 2011, I purchased a pack of 10 fluorescent bulbs, # 38351-3 007, 700 series, 9180-000-00117, that stated that they would last about 8 years. Another # on the package was 0-46677 11880-8. On 12-2-11, I had to replace 2 bulbs in my kitchen light because they were flickering and were mostly out instead of being lite. Today, 12-3-11, I had to replace the other 2 bulbs in the lighting fixture. So much for these bulbs lasting 8 years. In 10 months 4 of bulbs were no good. I hope the other bulbs that were in the package are better.

I have three lights and six lamps in the kitchen and two lights and four lamps in the bath. Both rooms are very well lit with these T-8 lamps. Pleased with this product. On a side note, if you want very bright light. I use the day light deluxe 4' T-8 lamps in my large garage, garage bath and garage laundry area. Total of 78 lamps. Very pleased.
