Customer Questions & Answers

dimensions of Phillips 40-Watt T8 Intermediate-Base Light Bulb

I must have a bulb of 2 in. length and approx. 1in. diameter to fit in my Whirlpool Microwave (purchased from Home Depot).
Asked by: Anonymous
This bulb is too long (by 0.5in) for my Whirlpool microwave (model WMH53520cs-2). It's not equivalent to the Whirlpool (8206232A) bulb which is 2in. in length.

Will this fit my GE microwave bulb number WB25X10030

Asked by: Greg
Yes. I installed this one to replace WB25X10030 and it fit and worked fine. I only replace one side and could not tell any difference in the operation and lighting from the original that is still on the other side. The new bulb is slightly longer, but fits fine. Works the same as the original on bright and dim.

Will this replacement bulb fit Frigidaire Model # FMV152KSA

I have an over the range microwave. Both light bulbs underneath microwave are burned out. Would this be a suitable replacement for those bulbs? My owners manual does NOT specify which replacement bulbs to use underneath the microwave, only the one that works inside. Please advise. Thanks!
Asked by: JumpEJen
It should. I had a Frigidaire and it fit fine.

I'm not happy that these bulbs last so little. Really? 9 months on an average of 3 hours a day? Is there a CFL version?

Or something else that would last longer? $8 per 9 months' usage?
Asked by: LightBulbAnnoyed
The bulb is enclosed, so tends to burn out if you leave it on when you don't need it.

Then, it just burned out. Put another one in, and it went out after 1 month. The funny thing is though is that we don't turn this light on veryoften. Obviously, I won't keep paying $4 for an inferior product. Philips should be ashamed of themselves.

I was glad to use the order online and pick up in store. I did not want to have to order from somewhere else online and wait for it to arrive by mail. I needed it instantly and the option to order from home and pick up that day was great for me.

This specific bulb and brand (Philips) got the best reviews on the internet. Some of the other brands didn't last 1 year even though use was minimal.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't last very long... I always try to be fair. Truthfully, I have no way of knowing if this is the fault of the bulb or of my appliance, but here goes: I have an over-the-range microwave that uses these bulbs. After over a year of regular daily use, the manufacturer's bulb died. It more than died--it totally came apart. I purchased this bulb as a replacement as the only one I could find. While it didn't fall apart like the original bulb, it burned out after just a few months. Allowing for a fluke, I bought another. Disappointingly, it, too, burned out after only a few months. I accidentally purchased a couple of the lesser watt bulbs and decided to keep them for emergencies. One of them is installed right now and is on its second month. Whether it can last through a third month like its 40 watt brother only time will tell. However, I will be looking for a greater watt replacement of another brand to test my Philips theory. What I have now is no better than a nightlight.
