Answer:
The dimension are determined by the bulb type. I can say this bulb meets those requirements, but I have no way of knowing what type of base you need. They are not all the same. Refer to your manual, or take the existing bulb to Home Depot for help. Or send the model of your micro to Whirlpool and ask the exact bulb you need.

Answer:
Yes. I installed this one to replace WB25X10030 and it fit and worked fine. I only replace one side and could not tell any difference in the operation and lighting from the original that is still on the other side. The new bulb is slightly longer, but fits fine. Works the same as the original on bright and dim.

I have an over the range microwave. Both light bulbs underneath microwave are burned out. Would this be a suitable replacement for those bulbs? My owners manual does NOT specify which replacement bulbs to use underneath the microwave, only the one that works inside. Please advise. Thanks!

I'm not happy that these bulbs last so little. Really? 9 months on an average of 3 hours a day? Is there a CFL version?

Or something else that would last longer? $8 per 9 months' usage?

The 9 months s based on 3 hours a day, which is part of the federal trade commission guidelines, which was manditory for standard base bulbs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't last very long... I always try to be fair. Truthfully, I have no way of knowing if this is the fault of the bulb or of my appliance, but here goes: I have an over-the-range microwave that uses these bulbs. After over a year of regular daily use, the manufacturer's bulb died. It more than died--it totally came apart. I purchased this bulb as a replacement as the only one I could find. While it didn't fall apart like the original bulb, it burned out after just a few months. Allowing for a fluke, I bought another. Disappointingly, it, too, burned out after only a few months. I accidentally purchased a couple of the lesser watt bulbs and decided to keep them for emergencies. One of them is installed right now and is on its second month. Whether it can last through a third month like its 40 watt brother only time will tell. However, I will be looking for a greater watt replacement of another brand to test my Philips theory. What I have now is no better than a nightlight.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK replacement, but not optimum. These are no doubt good original replacement type Edison bulbs, but I don't know why new appliances still use these old fashioned type bulbs. I have since replaced these with LED types, and my stove top is now much better lighted and it uses MUCH less electricity as well. Home Depot should consider carrying LED type bulbs in this size. I had to order them directly from China to get them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In-store Pickup Rocks Best thing about this was being able to order online for same day in-store pickup. Pickup was seriously the easiest thing I did that week. Didn't have to wander through an entire hardware store for a just a mere handful of bulbs. Always, always forget to buy these in a timely manner, because, frankly my life is too busy most of the time to remember to make a trip to one store for one item...so, thanks HD for making it painless. Also, haven't noticed it having a shorter life, as some reviewers claim. Nah, pretty much a bulb...but I do make a point to always turn off when not in use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lasts less than 2 months Same a review earlier this year. I have an over stove GE microwave and about to buy the 3rd set of replacement 120 volt 40 watt bulbs. Previous replacements last less than 2 months. Have just been doing without most of the last year. On the off chance that this was just a bad run for these bulbs and the issue has been corrected, here I go again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inexpensive and fits my Maytag Model # MMV4205DS IOver the Range Microwave The GE equivalent retails for $20 yet this is $4. Its also cheaper than the Feit model. Its a little too long for my Microhood but barely fits. So I am happy because the FEIT is 50% more money. These bulbs only last 1000hrs so I can not give it a 5 start. Expect to replace them every 3 - 12 months depeinding upon usage. For me this light is used all of the time 8-(.
