Customer Reviews

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect LED bulb! This bulb gives off a bright, white light--a huge improvement over lower-K LED bulbs we have used, which gave off a yellowish light. Plus it fits perfectly in our light fixture (doesn't stick out at the bottom like some LED lights). Very pleased! March 20, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I will be replacing all the lights in my home with these bulbs. I like these LEDs. I had been using Reveal daylight bulbs, but they ended up having a short life span. I noticed that HD had lowered the price on these Phillip LED bulbs, making HD’s price competitive with other sources. I like the cooler coloring, the shape and the way that the light is emitted from this bulb. Most of the light is emitted from the sloped belt on the side of the bulb and a more subdued amount of light being emitted from the end of the bulb. There is definitely a noticeable contrast between the two surface areas. The resulting light is distributed evenly throughout the room. The more I view the bulbs in the ceiling fixtures that have three pendant frosted white alabaster glass shades, the more I like the total affect. The Daylight 8W LED (40w) bulbs work very well when used in multiple light fixtures. They enhance the colors within the room without being overbearing and just help me feel better. I much prefer the Daylight bulbs over the Soft White bulbs. The color contrast between the Daylight and Soft White bulbs is amazing. These bulbs are solidly made, instant on and dimmable. I am replacing all the lights in my home with either the Philips Daylight 8W LED (40w) bulbs or the Philips Daylight 11W LED (60w) bulbs. March 20, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Full spectrum environmentally concscious light at good price. I ordered two, two packs of these & installed them in the in-ceiling fixtures in my kitche. I've been waiting for prices to drop on dimmable LED's for some time now & they're finally down to a point where I felt OK springing for them. My parents still think it's nuts to pay over ten bucks a bulb but when you consider the difference in energy consumption (8 watts for 40 watt incandescent equivalent light output) & the vast difference in the quality of the light, then I think they're well worth it. I've thus far traded out about half of the lights in my house from CFL's to LED's & once I started I couldn't stop. Still waiting for prices to drop a bit more to do the rest, but will get rid of all ugly CFL lighting ASAP. I'm a photographer by trade &have been using daylight balanced LED's in my studio for a while now. These bulbs are daylight balanced & I recommend that no matter what LED you choose, go for the daylight balanced ones. The soft white/warm-white, cool-white or (anything other than the daylight ones) give you funny colored light & less lumens (less light for your buck). These lights give off a clear light that will enhance the natural color of anything in your home. You'll wonder how you put up with the dull greenish/yellow tones of CFL's this long & get as hooked on changing out all your bulbs as I now am. I wonder why we didn't get this technology & skip the whole inferior CFL junk in the first place? Maybe just to sell consumers bulbs twice? I mean, haven't LED's existed since the start of the space program? Oh geez, don't get me started, I'm just really liking these lights. I've had great experience with Philips products in the past, hope these lights live up to their other claims in terms of how long they should last. They work well with the dimmer switch I have them on. June 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This is the future! Now. This light bulb is amazing. Equivalent to a 40W incandescent bulb but draws 8W. You can easily touch this while a regular 40W bulb would toast your hands. Dimming is flawless, too. March 31, 2013
