I have 5 of these bulbs in a 6 bulb dinning room fixture.
Normally I do not by the 2700k bulbs (Low end of color spectrum) however where the is that close to your face in a low light fixture over the table this is as high as I would go or the white light may blind you. This is the only kind I see with the frosted bulb which is excellent for the exposed bulb appearance.
The fixture I have has a dimmer slider style. The fixture still has one of the 6 bulbs as incandescent light bulb. I can only replace one at a time due to expense. The con I see is when one goes out will this style still be available as this is the only model I see like this.
The oldest one is one year, no issues

We have a 4 bulbs ceiling fan/light fixture in the living room and had been using F15 clear flame style 60 watt bulbs in the light. When one recently burned out, I replaced it with one of these, and although they say 45 watt, it LOOKED just as bright to us as the other bulbs. I went back the next day and bought 3 more and now have only LED bulbs in this light. I will use the other 3 as spares for another similar light we have. It will need the spares because I bought a dozen of the incandescent flame bulbs last year and so many have burned out, these will be the last 3 spares.
The new LED bulbs look great and are rated for 22.8 years. I don't know if they'll really last that long, but NONE of any other LED bulbs I've bought in the past 2 years have burned out yet.
Costs? Well, if one LED bulb lasts 20 years, and my incandescent bulbs have been burning out at 2 or 3 per year, per socket, even the pricey LED bulbs will turn out to be far less expensive in the long run.
Electricity usage will be drastically reduced for lighting now. In just this one light fixture, the change will reduce the electricity used from 240 watts (4 x 60 watts) down to 18 watts (4 x 4.5 watts).
Dimmability: When I had one of the LED bulbs in the fixture with the other bulbs still incandescent, I tested the dimming and the LED bulb dimmed correctly, matching the brightness/dimness of the other bulbs nicely. Be sure to check your LED bulb purchases to make sure they specifically say Dimmable, if you will need that feature. Some have it and some don't. If they don't mention Dimmable, then they aren't.
I discovered there was also a hidden safety issue caused by the old 60 watt incandescents in our fan/light fixtures. Even though the fixtures were rated 60 watts per socket, the wiring behind the socket has had its insulation baked into crumbly brittleness over the years, by the heat from those bulbs. Connections to the back of the socket get loose and sparky - not good! I have had to rewire those heat damaged sockets, but don't expect to need to do so anymore, as 4.5 watts from the LED bulbs will barely warm things.
To compare energy usage of the new LED bulbs, 4.5 watts of electricity is what gets used by the average incandescent night light bulb.
I am very impressed with LED bulb technology and will be recommending these bulbs to all my friends.
Avoid the CFL bulbs as they still don't save as much electricity as LED and CFL's contain mercury and have to be disposed of as hazardous waste. LED bulbs, don't - but considering their longevity, you might never need to actually worry about disposing of one anyway.
Nice and bright, Nice design, Eco-friendly (both for not having mercury and for saving electricity), long lasting.

I've been replacing the bulb in my driveway marker with increased frequency and I wanted to find something with a longer user life than the bulbs I'd been installing. This bulb was a little pricier than the ones I'd been buying but was SO worth it! It looks fanastic in the lamp-post and puts off a fantastic light cover for the front yard at night. I'm extremely happy to have found such a fantastic bulb that looks so great! Highly recommend!

This whole line of LED bulbs from Philips is a winner. We have replaced almost all the bulbs in our house with LED at this point, and the bulbs from Philips work in the dimmers without humming. The Cree bulbs hummed for us, even when they were labeled as "dimmable". Importantly, Philips has made their new LED bulbs beautiful. This one looks like any other frosted decorative bulb. We also have clear decorative bulbs in chandeliers, and they look like crystal---more attractive than traditional incandescent bulbs. Overall, a great value if you plan to stay in your house long enough to enjoy the savings, given the up-front expense.
