Tube guard

Is there a recommended tube guard for these bulbs or will they get too hot? What temperature will these bulb get to after they have been on for an extended time? I found a tube but the bulb should snot exceed 200F!
Asked by: JCB
Tube guards will definitely impact the temperatures. We are not familiar with them so we really cannot answer this. For fluorescent lamps, the hotter the temperatures, the lower the light output. The maximum temperature point for our lamp (on the etch side of the lamp where the bulb & the cap meet) should not exceed 90C. The optimal lumen level is when the ambient temperature around the bulb is 35C.

I actually think they are a bit warmer than the 4100K they list. They start just fine in cold temperatures (below freezing) and get to full output quickly. I have them in my shop and I don't think there is anything out there that will put out more light. It has been a year since I first purchased them and they are still going strong. I take off 1 star because they aren't particularly energy efficient and not cheap... but until LED's catch up, these are great.

I have not used this Fluorescent light bulb for long enough to comment on its reliability, however the light is satisfactory. In the era of LED's this Fluorescent rod should NOT be this pricy :(
