Fixture sold in store, but no bulbs?

I second what another person has asked, why sell the fixtures, but no bulbs in store?
Asked by: fotoman
They had these bulbs in my local store; I would not have bought the fixture if they did not carry the bulbs. You could check on-line if your local store has them in stock before you leave to buy the fixture. If not, a Home Depot near by may carry the bulbs.

Ends get black and burn out. The money I spent on replacing these bulbs should of gone to another brand or LEDs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Bright If you need bright white light then buy these bulbs and you won't be disappointed. My garage is like day light and I can see everything I'm working on. The price is a little high but you get what you pay for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Lifespan These bulbs burn out in record time. I have used in garage above my shop bench and I replace them constantly. I tried another brand and had no issues for 2 years. I purchased these again and withing 4 months all 3 bulbs were burned out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great light output but blackened ends I bought a couple dozen of these mated with the correct Lithonia fixtures/ballasts for them and while the light output and quality is fantastic, I am troubled to observe that the ends of the tubes darkened almost immediately. Doesn't seem to have impaired the light output (now 10 months or so in use only a few hours a week) so if I get anywhere near the rated life for them I will be happy given they're used in my work shop (appearance of dark ends doesn't matter to me). Perhaps I am being too aggressive turning them on and then off again whenever I leave the shop for a while i.e. have switched them too many times, I don't know...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lasted less than a year I bought three high output bulbs for my T5 high output fixture. The light was awsome. However, after less than a year of use in my kitchen, the ends are black and 2 of the bulbs are at about 1/2 the lumen output. They are supposed to last 5 years at 3 hours per day. I am very disappointed. A major competitor won't even carry T5 fixtures, only replacements bulbs. This is too much money for inadequate performance. I would stick with T8 or go to LED. This bulb will not be around for long. I am trying a lower wattage replacement bulb, but it is not as bright. I loved the bright light! But it has been expensive and I did not expect to need to replace bulbs so soon!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very bright and durable Installed these in my shop in a 4 tube fixture from HD a year ago. still burning bright, and far superior to any other FL light and twice as bright as any LED of comp size. Get these, and see the difference.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Phillips products have been a problem for me. Installed a new T5 HO fixture with new T5 HO bulbs. It lit up fine for less than a minute. One end of the bulbs glowed brightly and burned out leaving a dark spot. It would not light up after that. Going to try other bulbs if I can find them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What an improvement in my garage - a great find! What a difference!! I had three sets of double T12 in my garage for years and would have to add extra lighting to do work. These bulbs give out double the light of the old T12 and the 4100 degree cool white is perfect for a garage. I've only replaced two of the three sets and will replace the 3rd one soon. For the same energy I get double the light and the right color. Just love it! Lamp fixture is limited and basic but perfect for the garage, instant on and no buzz with its electronic ballast. Someone needs to sell kits to convert older t12 fixtures. It’s a little pricey, but all new technology is. The prices will come down as people replace the discontinued T12 dinosaurs.
