Rated 3 out of 5 by from My wife likes this light! The bulbs are installed in recessed ceiling sockets. The set of five light our kitchen well and provide 15 hrs/day light for an orchid plant. with the 300 w ( actually , 5 * 39w) of light, this plant has become an expensive kitchen feature. Efforts to replace these bulbs with others that are more efficient has been rejected by my wife! The bulbs do last the minimum number of hours cited on the package (I have good records) BUT NOT the number of years due to 15 hrs/day rather than 3 or 4 hrs/day usage. Such is the cost of maintaining a happy home.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Did NOT last longer than warranteed hours I also use it in an outdoor dusk to dawn application, and mine only made it 15 months. It is on a motion sensor so it's off most of the time. It only comes on for 2 or 3 minutes when someone comes/leaves then it's off again. Phillips warranty is 3 hours a day x 365 days/year x 2 years = 2190 hours I'm still trying to find out how to submit a warranty claim - may have to resor to PHILIPS CHAT link ... arggg......h

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Long Lasting Blub on the Market These bulbs are used in a Dusk to Dawn situation and last far longer than any others I have tried. I had to order them online since my local store does not keep at least 12 in stock? They arrived on time in good condition

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Good when activated it is enough light for driveway and hopefully my electric bill will show a reduction . So far it works as advertised

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great option for replacement for CFLs The warmth and brightness of the halogen is much better than all of the various CFLs we have tried. Instant on (truly) and great light. Not as efficient from an energy perspective, but when averaged over dimmed vs. full power we expect it will be within 50% of the energy consumption. Better light though.
