Do these bulbs work with most dimmer switches?

I have bought other dimmable LED's (BR-30# that flash when I use them on Lutron dimmer switch. I have recently purchased the Philips SlimStyle LED #br-30) and they work perfectly with my dimmer switch. Just looking for alternatives.

Yes they work (or at least for me they do). Electrical harmonics will also affect any kind of bulb, so keep that in mind with the overall load. The more bulbs you haveon the same circuit, the less electrons to go around making it more difficult for the circuit to work. However, I have had no issues with these bulbs dimming correctly.

Customer Reviews

65W Equivalent Soft White (2700K) BR30 Dimmable LED Floodlight Bulbs (2-Pack) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't tell that they're not incandescent We bought 12 of these for our downstairs recessed lighting in a full house renovation. When they were in, we couldn't tell any difference in the light from incandescents. We're so happy with the light, and the 6 year warranty makes it so that there's no question about saving money with the bulbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these light bulbs I put over 40 of these lightbulbs in my home and they are magnificent. I would highly recommend these bulbs as they are great looking in recess lighting situations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works with 7 year old dimmers I bought 9 EcoSmart R30 LED bulbs and they all were flickering occasionally. I returned them and went with a known brand to me Phillips and no flickering! I am very satisfied.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice light output but minimal dimming range and delayed turn on I swear by the CREE / Ecosmart 6" downlights with integrated bezel but they are too deep to fit in the recessed cans in my new house so I went in search of a standalone edison base bulb and found these Philips BR30s on sale. The Philips lights have a decent flood output and a nice light quality and the bulbs themselves feel well made. However, the turn on delay is probably 0.3 seconds or more and really bugged me. In addition, although they do dim linearly with both an analog and a digital (Lutron) dimmer, their dimming range is less than other LED bulbs and they suddenly turn off before getting very dim. I solved the delayed turn on with these Philips bulbs by installing a Lutron MACL153 dimmer that automatically turns the bulb on slowly, which was cheaper than buying another set of bulbs. So that (big) problem is solved. The last remaining problem is that the Philips bulbs hum quietly at some dimming settings, which I haven't experienced with any of my other LED bulbs. If there is any ambient noise they are as good as silent. I'm happy using these bulbs so long as the digital dimmer ramps them up, but I'm not sold enough to want to purchase more of them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok value for price. Not a soft warm light to be used in your kitchen or dinning area. Can be used on a dimmer switch is a plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the light bulb I have been looking for I bought these bulbs to replace the compact florescent bulbs that I had in my can lights. Although the florescent bulbs were more economical than the incandescent light bulb I had before them, I hated them. I had to wait for them to warm up and the light output was terrible. Once I put in the Philips BR30, it was like the difference between night and day. They are instance on and fully dimmable and bright too. The light output is wonderful. They only use 10.5W for a 65W equivalence. I have them set up in pairs so what used to use 130W with incandescent is now only 21W total for the pair for a brighter light. I would diffidently buy them again only the box states they last 22.8 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never a flicker, warm bright light After trying to deal with other brands of Leds I purchased at big box stores this bulb is a winner all around. I was tormented with annoying flickering at all light levels even after installing a dimmer that was Led compatible. The light is warm when dimmed and bright enough to work exceptionally well when preforming kitchens tasks.
