My set of four all work. The buzzing is there, but it is very, very soft and you will not hear it unless you go out of your way to hunt it down. In a normal kitchen or living room, you will never hear it.

65W Equivalent Soft White (2700K) BR30 LED Flood Light Bulb (E*) (4-Pack) is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 80.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Warm Color. Low Watts. Low Price! Just got these bulbs installed in my recessed lighting in my kitchen and they exceed expectations. Replaced 4 of our 5 lights and my wife didn't even notice a difference. PROS - lumens 650 (old bulb 620, so a tad brighter too) - perfect warm 2700k color (looks just like incandescent, just tad brighter) - only 9.5watts compared to 65watts! (even better than phillips other 13.5w br30 led bulb) - price! $15 each is at this time the cheapest you can find for a brand like phillips! (other br30 bulbs are $30 each) CONS - cannot be dimmed (this is not a con for me, in our kitchen we never have a need to dim the lights) So if you compare this to the phillips 13.5w br30 bulb that is dimmable. You are paying basically double the price $30 each for that dim feature and those bulbs have 4 extra watts as well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bought - buzzed - returned I have a couple versions of the 65W LED BR30 bulbs that Philips has created, as their color is great and far more efficient than incandescent. I purchased these thinking they would be the same quality as the previous ones (the silver ring is on the prior versions - this one is NOT what is pictured, it has a white ring and much cheaper construction). I received them, and put two in - the buzz is audible up to 15 feet away. If the environment is noisy, or the bulbs up high, it might be fine. For me, it is in my home office and kitchen. It was beyond what I could work in - I returned the bulbs. I don't recommend these unless, as I mention, the environment is noisy or the bulb up high so you won't hear the buzzing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Pleased Replaced six 65w incandescent power hogs with these energy-efficient LED's that sip just 17% of the wattage, are actually brighter, turn on with no delay, and reduce our "footprint.". Because they run cooler, they might also trim our summer cooling bill. Their lower power consumption will help us stay out of the most costly billing tiers too. With an estimated payback period of 1.5 years, a 5-year warranty, and a rated 22,500-hour bulb life, this was an easy decision - highly recommended.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great except for the annoying buzzing on 50% of the bulbs purchased I agree with the review that said to buy twice as many as you need. I bought 16 and 8 of them had the annoying buzz. The light output is solid, probably above what they stated. The color is great; but man, that buzz is unbearable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Let Down I bought three of these and one pack of the Eco Smart 9w br30s. The Eco Smart are cheaper, use less watts, give off better light, and are dimmable. The Philips one has 6 year warranty which is a year longer than the Ecos, but the Philips lights have quality issues. In each box I ordered, there were one or two lights that buzzed. This isn't using a dimmer, just a permanent buzz. It's not annoying loud, and I can't hear it over any other noise, but when my house is quiet it is very easy to notice. Given that these were more expensive than the Ecos, I'm considering returning them. To be fair, the Philips are still a good value compared to the rest of the completion. They are good bulbs, just not on the level of the Ecos so there is no reason to buy these if you're already shopping at Home Depot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Excitement Dashed I was excited to get these light bulbs in the mail. I got these through the "deal of the day" emails and was so excited about the price that I got two boxes. When they arrived (when I got home from vacation) I immediately opened them and put one in. It worked beautifully, a little brighter than the old bulbs, but that's fine with me. I installed the second one in the bathroom, but it buzzed. This was quite disappointing since the box proclaimed its no buzz feature. Undeterred, I went on the the 3rd bulb... which didn't work at all! :( After testing all 8 flood lights I'd purchased, only 2 worked as advertised, 3 hummed/buzzed and 3 didn't light up.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some (not all) are Noisy I don't understand why LED lights make any noise at all, because they have no filament. At any rate, these BR30 floods are not created equally. Purchased 2 packs (8 lights) and 4 of them produced an audible noise that drove me crazy, so I returned one pack. I own some philips BR30s that ARE dimmable (these are not) and they don't produce such a noise. I expected more from Philips.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice bulb, buzzes constantly Bulbs were installed into recessed kitchen lighting. Bulbs emit a constant buzzing noise, which after some further research, seems to be a common complaint with these bulbs. These bulbs are similar to the Hue versions, but without the dimming ability and colors, however it seems that these bulbs are a lower quality than the others. The buzzing noise is a downside, only time will tell how long these bulbs will last and if the energy savings is worth the noise.
