Product Overview

The more you dim, the warmer the light with the Philips BR30 flood light with warm glow dimmable light effect. This Philips LED BR30 offers a new experience for dimmable LEDs by creating a soft, diffused light and smooth dimming from 2700K to 2200K. As the light is dimmed, the color temperature of the bulb is reduced and creates a warm, relaxing ambiance. Until now, this warm, dimming effect was only available in dimmable halogen and incandescent light bulbs. Now, here's the perfect alternative for these household applications where ambience is as important as lowering energy bills and reducing the hassle of frequently replacing light bulbs. This fully dimmable light bulb is ENERGY STAR certified and ideal for residential use in kitchens, living rooms and dining rooms and for commercial use in restaurants and hospitality applications. It is perfect for table lamps or anywhere traditional light bulbs are used, offering soft white light for a pleasing and relaxed ambiance. It's dimming your way.

replace incandescent floods

Can these led floods replace regular incandescent floods in the current can or does an adaptor have to be installed?
Asked by: GPAUL
They are a direct replacement for BR30 incandescent floods and should work just fine as is. This Philips bulb may be slightly longer than others, though, so it may stick down a little further.

Can these reach a very dim state like a conventional bulb? I haven't found a LED BR30 bulb that fades smoothly to off.

Asked by: Gordon
Yes, this warm glow bulb will dim very low with a nice amber hue using a Lutron CFL/LED dimmer.

These bulbs have a soft white, warm light output that makes them indistinguishable from incandescent lighting. Good product. Now let's see if the life is as good as promised. Back with update in 10 or 15 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Astonishing Truly amazing performance. This is only LED bulb that really does replicate an incandescent. I've tried several different brands of dimmable soft white LEDs and this is the only one so far that looks good enough to replace an incandescent at all dimming settings. It made me want to try other Philips "warm glow" dimmable soft white LEDs, but sadly others that I've tried havent been as good in color temperature and tone. I will keep trying them because this bulb has convinced me the future really is bright (see what I did there?) for LEDs replacing incandescents.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Color of everything looks lifeless under these lights. Had PAR 30 short halogens in my kitchen and finally decided to try LEDs. Was disappointed with the color of these lights. They didn't buzz in my standard Lutron dimmer the way the cheap Crees did, but the color was really bad. When you looked at the lights themselves, the color output looked similar to the halogens, but something is definitely off. With the halogens, the colors popped and looked very warm and nice and yellowish, things looked beautiful at any position on the the dimmer. My arms had a warm tan glow, like you'd see at sunset. These Phillips lights just made everything look dingy like someone had put a dull brownish plastic lens over my eyes. I'm also disappointed that Home Depot doesn't carry more of the short necks, or spots like the halogens I have. I'm not used to seeing this much of the bulb. Apparently a lot of people are happy with the coloring, they're just not for me. Going to try every bulb I can find, but if the technology isn't any better than this, I may buy another round of the halogens until the companies can get it right. The Phillips LCDs were $3 on sale. So if you're just looking to lower your bill that's a good deal, but I'm not ready to compromise the feeling of my home...even if they were free.

If you're looking an BR30 LEB bulb to replace your 65W incandescent bulbs, this is it. I have tried many other bulbs but the Warm Glow effect makes this lamp perform just like an incandescent bulb but without the heat and wasted power. Other 2700K bulbs dim but hey still have that whitish cool glow, these actually dim to an amber hue making them warm and comforting. The brightness at full power is actually a litter brighter than the 65watt equivalent. I purchased 25 of these bulbs and have been very satisfied.

Unfortunately, as I've found with many LED lights, this one is not nearly as "dimmable" as the incandescents it replaces. I have not taken measurements, but qualitatively, I would say that the minimum dimness of these bulbs would equal an incandescent bulb at 50% dimness on the same switch in my house... so that's gonna knock off a star. Still, these are the best I've found so far.

I'm slowly replacing all my incandescent bulbs with Philips WarmGlow bulbs. They get these three things right: 1) Color. Very close to tungsten. 2) Dimming. Works with my Insteon system without trouble. Very quiet when dimmed. 3) Fit. On #3, these BR30's seem just a tad longer or wider or something than the halogen BR30's I had before -- it was a little tricky getting them into the "tilt cans" I have, but the face fits perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Bulb I bought this bulb as I needed a floodlight bulb that would fit in an enclosed exterior floodlight holder. A CFL bulb would not screw in as the area just above the threads was too large in diameter. This bulb fit great, gives plenty of light and will last a LONG time. The Price was Awesome!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally! An led spot that resembles incandescent! Just a week so far but I was overwhelmed. They even worked with my older dimmers which don't usually do so well in the low watt end of the dimming curve. Now to get a very narrow spot! (25 degrees or less)
