Answer:
I think that's the shipping weight, but the bulb is much lighter. The fixture can certainly hold the bulb, if the the fixture is installed properly.

Answer:
Hi Elsie, while these LED bulbs are intended for use in recessed fixtures, the Philips Lighting team is unable to know whether these bulbs are too heavy for your cans as this is dependent on the weight capacity of your fixtures. Your fixture manufacturer should have more information on this as well. Please let the Philips Lighting team know if there is anything else that we can help with.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect replacement for halogen spots After several mistrials of all the LED spots at the store, I finally found the specs for these bulbs online; perfect. Said they had them in stock, but my fourth trip to the store resulted in more disappointment, cause inventory count was wrong. The bulb itself is a perfect replacement for the 50 watt halogen spot light that Depot sells. The jury is out for the claimed 22years of useful life. I'll get back to you on that in 2026! They are expensive but make up for it with twenty year life and make almost no heat. They actually feel cool to touch. February 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Got the job done! Purchased these because the ones I bought less than a year ago for my kitchen are NLA from Home Depot or anywhere else I can find, and this was the closest visual match. They work fine, and the appearance isn't that different unless you look at them side by side (at which point it's really obvious). I have them on a dimmer, which is nice, and they give a much more pleasing light than the old incandescent bulbs July 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ideal light, long life These new Philips flood lights are now in my kitchen cans (5) and sons room (8) tracks. Installed with Lutron Maestro dimmers. Clean light with even color temperature at all light levels. Replaced halogen 75W Phillips with 13 watts of LED. The payback is under 4 years to breakeven. It is all gravy after that. Also saves on A/C cooling load as these produce very little heat. Try some - you'll like them. April 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great lighting, but soooooo expensive! I decided to switch my kitchen lighting to these LED lights when I saw them used in the Symphony Decorator Showhouse in Atlanta and liked the look. Unfortunately, I have ten can lights in my kitchen, so the total cost was almost $400. For LIGHT BULBS!! I have to think that it's not that expensive to manufacture these bulbs that they should cost $35 each, so it must be the marketing. They are justifying the cost by saying that the lights last 20 plus years so you never have to change them. We'll see. They do look good and the light is pleasant. Make sure they are on a dimmer, as they are very bright when on full force. Overall, I checked about ten websites and Home Depot's prices were competitive, so I don't feel as if I paid more than I would elsewhere, but after the novelty wears off (much like flat screen TVs) I'm betting the price will come down significantly. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Spotty flood Nice color and of course simple installation. But if you need a true flood, not a spot, and can take the time to remove the existing trim and replace it with the unitized bulb/trim type of light, I feel the Cree LED floods (also sold by Home Depot) are better. They have a cleaner look, turn on faster, and produce a wider-angle pattern. So no big "hot spots" directly under the bulbs like you get with the Phillips. June 5, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product Filled my need with immediate bright light. The color of the lite is bright white. Put over sink In three cans along with eight other kitchen cans that have cfls. Works excellent and did what I needed. Works well with dimmer February 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This product puts out excellent light for only 13 watts. Theses bulbs are a little exspensive but I feel are worth it in the long run. July 9, 2013
