Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No good for frequent use As a reptile keeper, I keep an eye out for good quality bulbs that produce the right kind of light and enough heat to keep my pets healthy. I bought this bulb originally thinking it was the perfect fit. Halogen produces more heat, it was in the right wattage range for my needs, and it wasn't the "soft light" kind that tends to irritate reptiles. I used it for a little while...and then it stopped working. So I bought another, exactly the same. Used it 14-15 hours a day for about 3 weeks, and then kaput - done. It lasted about 315 hours total, which is 1/3 of the advertised 1095 hours. Pretty sad. Maybe it would have lasted longer if it hadn't been used so heavily, but this bulb was still a disappointment. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Light good bright light just what I needed for the area. January 6, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Spot Light is More Like It (Not Flood) The Home Depot description says "wide beam of light". Per the Philips website and a marking on the side of the bulb, the beam angle is 25 degrees. I would call this bulb a "spot" light, not a "flood" light as advertised. At best, it should be labeled as a "narrow flood". I replaced two R20 flood lights with two of these larger R30 "flood" lights expecting to get more light. The light spread was noticeably less. I put the R20s back in place and will return these bulbs. Philips does make this bulb with a 40 degree beam angle. Why doesn't Home Depot sell the 40 degree bulb? November 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by flood lights the light is performing well - it illuminates the whole area of need October 28, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by LED Light Something I learned buying new bulbs for my aged outside light fixtures is that the base of some bulbs is thicker than others, and those bulbs with larger diameters near the threads do not screw in to the fixture deeply enough to make an electrical connection. They did work on a fixture I bought last year. Be mindful of the age of your fixtures when buying new flood/spot lights. This LED light fit fine. The florescent type do not fit. September 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good lighting. Bought as a replacement. Works well producing excellent lighting.. September 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bulb for track lighting The bulb gives you a flood of light. Wish the would change the price. It used to be you could get two bulbs in a package for a lower price. September 2, 2014
