DON`T KNOW WHAT THE (e)* at the end stands for
Asked by: really
I believe this indicates that these bulbs have received an EnergyStar rating for being an energy efficient product.

Why is a single bulb $22 and a "case" of 2 bulbs is $62

Asked by: kentduffy
Just a thought, if they are the exact same item numbers, their pricing math majors may have slipped a little in calculation. Before I would buy any of this item, if we verify the pricing is incorrect, I would call Customer Service with item order numbers, the product number if available, and the listed prices. I would not consider purchasing until the pricing is cleared up.

Customer Reviews

75W Equivalent Soft White (2700K) BR40 Dimmable LED Flood Light Bulb (2-Pack) (E)* is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great item! I replaced four 75 watt flood lights that where in opened recessed cans in the kitchen area with the Phillips 14.5 watt BR 40 LED bulbs and was pleasantly surprised. I get that same wide beam and soft light as the old flood lights. The new bulbs are to be installed in opened cans and the exposed end looks just like the old flood lights unlike some of the other LED lights I have seen. With the quality of light, exterior appearance and the estimated energy savings of $166 over the life of each bulb this looks like a great investment for my family and for the environment as well. I plan on using more of these bulbs in the future and wouldl recommend to all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome bulb, hope it lasts! I have over 40 recessed cans in my house, so I have been replacing incandescent bulbs like it is a second job. Hopefully these bulbs will reduce that for me. I did install some CFLs in my office but and family room, but hate how long they take to reach full light. I've been wanting to switch over to LED for a while, but they have just been so expensive. The prices have started to come down, so I am starting to replace the incandescents one room at a time. I started with the kitchen and these Phillips bulbs have been great! The provide much more light than the 65 watt incandescents I had been using (800 lumens to 550) which is awesome for the kitchen and I really appreciate the 2700k color which is so close to the incandescents we are used to. I was so happy with their performance, I did the family room too. The instant on is so much better than the CFLs I had in there. The back door comes into the family room and the instant on is much better when coming home to a dark house and getting very little light from a CFL that is warming up. I also put them in a powder room and water closet in the master bath. Figure they will last forever in there! So that is 5 in the kitchen, 4 in the family room, and 2 bathrooms down. Only about 35 more to go! I will say that I am waiting for a B40 sized bulb in a 65 watt equivalent. The 800 lumens we get out of these is pretty bright for hallways that have 4 cans in them. Hopefully, we'll see more options in the near future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Noisy Confirming what has been reported elsewhere, the bulbs emit a high-pitched noise. This is irritating when sitting right underneath the fixture, and progressively so, if there are multiple bulbs in one room. HD took all four bulbs back without any ado.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great light these are very nice lights. i just put a set of four in our kitchen and intend to buy several more. one minor quibble - the home depot website is WRONG about the specs. philips model 423756 consumes electricity at a rate of 14.5W, NOT 13W. the packaging in the picture give the correct specs. hopefully, someone will correct this mistake. don't let this scare you off though. i like them very much. the model number on the bulb is 9290002199.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LED Recessed Light Bulbs for Kitchen Island Great soft light provided by these bulbs, although quite expensive. Much better intensity than standard 65W indoor floods used previously. Hope they last the specified 10+ years. Used BR 40 instead of BR30 as they are larger but still fit in a standard can light housing. Arrived from Home Depot on time and undamaged.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Attractive and Bright I installed these in my bedroom, which has 5" recessed lighting. The bulb is designed so the gap for the heatsink is exposed, allowing room air to carry away heat from the LEDs. This means that the bulb will not (or should) not go in past the white portion. The good news is that Philips designed it to look really nice when it's installed properly. I think it looks even better than a typical BR40 bulb. This bulb is as good or better than incandescents in terms of light quality, distribution, and brightness. It feels like daytime when I turn these lights on in my room, and they are only using 60 watts. They are fairly pricey, but you really can't do much better than Philips on these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from replaced 7 lights in kitchen, very happy I was unsure when ordering if these would be the right LED’s for the job or not. They turned out to be perfect. A bit brighter than the standard incandescent and fluorescent bulbs. They dim great, however, there is a noticeable low level buzz on the dimmed setting, but not that bad. More importantly I have had them for a couple of months and haven’t had to replace any. I seemed like I was always replacing the other versions.
