The Philips brand LED bulbs look exactly like a regular incandescent bulb but cost very little to operate and are much brighter. Have many of these in different sizes and all are performing well. It is a little costly initially but the energy savings will pay for them many times over.

I have over 40 recessed cans in my house, so I have been replacing incandescent bulbs like it is a second job. Hopefully these bulbs will reduce that for me. I did install some CFLs in my office but and family room, but hate how long they take to reach full light.
I've been wanting to switch over to LED for a while, but they have just been so expensive. The prices have started to come down, so I am starting to replace the incandescents one room at a time. I started with the kitchen and these Phillips bulbs have been great! The provide much more light than the 65 watt incandescents I had been using (800 lumens to 550) which is awesome for the kitchen and I really appreciate the 2700k color which is so close to the incandescents we are used to.
I was so happy with their performance, I did the family room too. The instant on is so much better than the CFLs I had in there. The back door comes into the family room and the instant on is much better when coming home to a dark house and getting very little light from a CFL that is warming up.
I also put them in a powder room and water closet in the master bath. Figure they will last forever in there! So that is 5 in the kitchen, 4 in the family room, and 2 bathrooms down. Only about 35 more to go!
I will say that I am waiting for a B40 sized bulb in a 65 watt equivalent. The 800 lumens we get out of these is pretty bright for hallways that have 4 cans in them. Hopefully, we'll see more options in the near future.

I replaced four 75 watt flood lights that where in opened recessed cans in the kitchen area with the Phillips 14.5 watt BR 40 LED bulbs and was pleasantly surprised. I get that same wide beam and soft light as the old flood lights. The new bulbs are to be installed in opened cans and the exposed end looks just like the old flood lights unlike some of the other LED lights I have seen. With the quality of light, exterior appearance and the estimated energy savings of $166 over the life of each bulb this looks like a great investment for my family and for the environment as well. I plan on using more of these bulbs in the future and wouldl recommend to all.

I installed these in my bedroom, which has 5" recessed lighting. The bulb is designed so the gap for the heatsink is exposed, allowing room air to carry away heat from the LEDs. This means that the bulb will not (or should) not go in past the white portion. The good news is that Philips designed it to look really nice when it's installed properly. I think it looks even better than a typical BR40 bulb.
This bulb is as good or better than incandescents in terms of light quality, distribution, and brightness. It feels like daytime when I turn these lights on in my room, and they are only using 60 watts.
They are fairly pricey, but you really can't do much better than Philips on these.

I ordered these to replace the traditional flood lamps because they were extremely hot and was causing for the office to heat up. With this purchase, we were able to reduce the heat in the office thus not having to use the a/c more than normal. I am pleased with the purchase.

These bulbs, although less wattage, are much brighter than standard bulbs.
