Customer Reviews

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Replacement! Very bright light with good diffusion. I tried replacing these downlights with other types of LED bulbs but they were more directional. These are a great replacement for the can lights and have made my kitchen look brighter and richer. The light is close to incandescent (2700K) and are also dimmable with my current dimmer. Fits a lot closer to the ceiling than my previous fixture. I did have to modify my fixture though since it was the older type without the clips. I purchased Traverse Retrofit 5 in. and 6 in. Recessed Metallic C Clips also from Home Depot (Model # 14610 Internet # 204367868) and they worked great with these bulbs. Overall a great purchase for my kitchen. November 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great replacement for my old CFLs I had CFL's in the cans in my basement and replaced them with these. I love 'em! Instant on light, dimmable, and brighter than the CFL's that I replaced, using onlyl a little more energy. I love the look of the flat light emitting surface... didn't like looking at the bulbs before. Based on the cost of trim rings, they may not even cost you much more than buying other types of bulbs/rings. I only wish I'd found these before I had purchased all new LED bulbs for my kitchen cans. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great lights, install method not the best These are very nice lights, especially on sale. The color is great at 2700K and the flood pattern is very uniform. These are much brighter than the 65 watt incandescent lights I replaced. To get these tight against the ceiling, I did have some problems with the metal spring arms. It could be the particular can lights I have in my ceiling but I couldn't get them tight to the sheetrock to my satisfaction. I ended up cutting the spring-loaded arms off with a wire cutter and left the socket mounting bracket in my existing can lights (instructions state to remove). Because these are a 1 piece unit I simply screwed the entire retrofit into the bulb socket. There 's a bit of adjusting one needs to do on the thumbscrew to get the height of the bracket just right for a perfect install, but it worked wonderfully for me. December 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great bulbs and dim pretty well. These LEDs put out a lot of light. These are abit on the warm side though. It's not your typical daylight or white color LED but these are really warm white. Even abit warmer than your typical incandescent lights. The dimming feature is good too. I don't hear any hums. I installed these with the halo recessed new construction cans and a TGCL-153PR-WH Lutron dimmer. All in all, if they do last the 20 yrs, then great. If not, I can always rely on the warranty. When trying to choose a dimmer, you have to do your research. Some dimmers will make the LED bulbs to hum. This is the second dimmer from Lutron and the TGCL-153PR-WH was the one that did not make the bulbs hum. Also, if you're looking for full dimming, you will not get it. They will dim to about 15-20%. You can find the dimmer at your local Homedepot. December 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great light Easy to install. Not as much trouble as it seems when you first look at the directions. Light looks great, and the color is pretty much the same as the other tungsten lights in the room. They are also much brighter than the 65w flood lights they replaced. Makes me wish I had more recessed lights. I got them on a daily deal for $20, so at regular price, I might not have tried them. December 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic, easily replaced older recessed lights; better, more natural light Simple to install. Great upgrade to older recessed lighting December 21, 2013
