Floodlight is located outdoors, but under soffet; it does get hit with rain/snow when wind blows hard. Will this blow the bulb?

I've had mine out in the open a year and they still look and operate like new. Snow, wind, rain, sun....live in Ohio

review says not for sensor activated fixtures

I've read one review that says this bulb should not be used with sensor fixtures, said this is stated on the box? If this bulb is OK for my fixture, I will order. Looks as if this is the perfect bulb for me, my fixture uses two bulbs and both are out. Please explain the reason for the different uses.

I missed this on the box, and have been using in motion sensor outdoor fixture and have had no problems

On the box it says not to be used where directly exposed to water.

So why do they claim that this is an "outdoor" bulb. Almost all PAR 27 halogen or incandescent bulbs are in fixtures where they get wet directly from rain. So, it would not be considered a direct replacement of these. ??????????

I have 2 of these bulbs in a motion sensor fixture outside my back door--they have been there since late fall 2013. The fixture is not under a porch. I'm in Evanston, IL, just north of Chicago and we have had plenty of rain and snow in the past few months. There have been no problems with the bulbs. I never read the box! Just read the product specs on the home depot site and bought them because specs said they were ok for outdoor use. Not sure if my answer is of any help. What kind of fixture do you want to use the bulbs in?
