The Philips Advance Centium ballast features metal assembly for strength and a 0˚ starting capability for use in cold temperature applications. This high frequency electronic ballast offers all of the necessary commercial grade specifications plus the added benefit of lamp striation reduction technology. This provides a more sustainable lighting solution over standard T8 or T12 fixtures.

It depends on the 8 foot T12 bulb you have. Knowing wattage is key.
If the bulbs are 60 watt 8 ft bulbs, and not high output F96T12 bulbs, then yes.

I have 2 fixtures. One uses the old magnetic ballast and I will replace the ballast in the other with the Phillips Centium. If the magnetic ballast introduces noise on the a/c line, will that fry the PN junction of the transistor drivers in the electronic ballast or shorten its life?
