Rated 3.1 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Halogen indoor flood light Don't seem to last as long as rated. Cost is not good compared to how long it last. July 16, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Expensive, short life Maybe it's the low-budget cans I used for my recessed lighting, but I've replaced more of these bulbs in the past 6 months than I have in my basement recessed lighting over the past 5 years. There are no competitors to compare to with these short neck bulbs. June 3, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by NOT worth the money! While the lamp works it gives good light.....while it works. Our AVERAGE time to last is normally less than 100 days with normally 3 to 4 hours burn time per day. This is FAR LESS than advertised and not worth the $8 plus price each. If it didn't require changing out all the ceiling cans we would change to anything else. As for any savings there aren't any. May 20, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works as Advertised Initially, the bulb wouldn't screw into the receptacle, and I was dismayed to discover there weren’t any instructions provided with the bulb. After some trial and error, I discovered that by reversing the direction I was turning the bulb, it would screw in. After this installation step was completed, the bulb didn’t light up. I made the assumption that the new bulb was similar in operation to the old bulb that was being replaced, so I tried flipping the switch and the bulb lit up brightly! Amazing! I am very satisfied with this product despite the lack of complete installation instructions and would recommend buying it. December 10, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Quality product - inherent problems I have light cans in my living room ceiling that are short. These short bulbs fit perfectly, look nice, provide nice light, and are dimmable. They are halogen, get very hot thus using excess energy and don't last very long (less than a year). Because they don't last very long, that makes the TCO quite high. I've tried several brands and these Philips at HD are the best in quality. They look good and seem to last a little longer than others I've tried. I'm looking for a cfl bulb that looks good and is dimmable and will fit my cans, but no luck so far. So as far as this review goes, I want to point out the inherent problems with this type of bulb. But if these are the type you need, the Philips at HD are a good choice. There are two vesions of these sitting right next to each other on the shelf. If you want a flood light like I use, be careful you don't accidentally pickup a spot. The packaging is very similar. June 10, 2014
