I tried this out in my daughter's room and I am impressed. It's a no compromises bulb with 30% energy savings.
This light has all of the advantages of an incandescent in terms of response time, material safety (no mercury like in a CFL), being dimmable, and providing a color that gives your room a luxurious and comforting feel. I recommend using a dimmer and avoiding running at full brightness so as to protect your investment - you can extend life over 10X.
Also, I have looked around and Home Depot has by far the best price on this item within the stores.
For the sake of the environment and your energy bills, please consider using this bulb for places where a CFL won't work.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by victorianrestorer low-wattage and dimmable
unlike CFLs, these are dimmable and unlike incandescents, these are low wattage. At the time of this writing, we haven't found a reasonably priced alternative.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by RDW720 Nice soft lighting for inside or outside.
Have used this product before inside kitchen and outside. Works perfect for what I need. Nice soft green light. Lasts long time before needing replacement.

Reliable, great lighting! I use them for my recessed lighting. I feel it's a bit high in price, therefore the reason I gave it a 4 star rating. ;))

Rated 4 out of 5Â by cuzu this product provides better lighting than a CFL type flood
overall rating would be excellent if it were more energy efficient. have used these bulbs in our kitchen for several years and most have lived up to the 2 year life (those that didn't were warranted by Philips at the purchased price). tried the dimmable CFL's which are considerably more costly, but didn't like the lighting performance compared to these Halogenas.
