Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No Bugs - But Light Doesn't Last Long Not sure why, but these lights don't last long. I purchased two 2-packs and one was already dead out of the box. I use them as a security light on a timer on my front porch, so they turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn. I purchased this type because I wanted light without attracting bugs. The previous two bulbs made it to around 3 months. However, my last bulb installation was 9 Oct 2015 and it burned out 18 Dec 2015, which is not even 3 months. In the past I had GE bulbs that lasted about 5 months which is much better. I will go back to GE. December 20, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I purchased the 90watt version I bought the 90watt version and I have to say that it helps a lot. With a regular bulb, my outside light attracts an unbelievable amount of insects. This bulb, 90 watts, does not. My light fixture has a dimming feature and motion sensor. So, most of the time it is dimmed, when I approach to unlock the door, the light turns on full brightness and I have light. I would estimate that 90-95% of bugs are deterred. There are a few insects that still hover around but compared to the gazillion that come around with a regular light, I'm happy. I have had a few burn out on me prematurely. I'm waiting for an led. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Works well, doesn't last. These bulbs do their job but burn out fast. I tried them on my front porch which turns on daily with a timer. They lasted less than two months. These may be a good option if you intend to use them short term for an event, but not daily. February 20, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Woks well, but doesn't last long Our regular outside lights were attracting bugs like crazy this past summer. Bought these bulbs and I'd estimate them as being about 90% effective at not attracting the bugs. They came in a two-pack and were about $6, I believe. Ours come on at night when it gets dark and are only on until morning. I had one burn out just shy of the 90-day Home Depot return policy on light bulbs. I'm worried that the other one will burn out prematurely, too, and then I'll have to contact the manufacturer. November 12, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bugs everywhere Just bought these and left the porch light on this evening. When I came home after dark, the entire front porch area was covered in bugs. Even bugs I have never seen before. Not only does this light not detract bugs, but I think they actually like the light. July 20, 2014
