Customer Questions & Answers

can i buy this product by the case? I need over 34 bulbs

Asked by: babs
I'd say yes. Though a mix of wattage would be the way to go. Mix it up by getting 40W,60W and other equivalent ones if available.

Will this bulb work in a kitchen stove hood that requires a 40 watt bulb?

Asked by: Revver15
I recommend that NO LED ever be used in a range hood. The temperatures can exceed the max operating temperature of the lamp.

Customer Reviews

SlimStyle 40W Equivalent Soft White (2700K) A19 Dimmable LED Light Bulb is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good LED substitute for incandescent I tried several LED substitutes for incandescents, but these are the best. Most are too blue and give a rather sickly hue, even if bright. You cannot tell the difference between these and the incandescents they replace, though they use little electricity and last forever. It casts a more even light as a disk, but it still looks strange when visible in the lamp and I'm not sure how trouble free they really are. Will they keep their light even though ageing? Still, happy to have found a great substitute after trying quite a few.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LED has finally arrived Being particular about light output [lumens] and color temperature... I have stayed with an incandescent bulb over other technologies, not because those other technologies were not more efficient, but because those other technologies did not adequately reproduce the light I have become accustomed to and prefer. These LEDs have won me over. I took a picture of the fixture with the traditional bulb and then with the LED bulb and did a side by side comparison. They were identical [at least to my eye]. Note. These LEDs do not have to the same size and shape as the traditional A19 incandescent bulb or even other more traditionally shaped LED bulbs, so in my opinion, they are best suited for fixtures where the bulb is not visible [fixtures with an opaque or frosted cover]. One of my uses for this bulb is the “over the sink” fixture that has a frosted globe [very common in kitchens].

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best LED lights you can buy I have spent hours of reserach between Cree,GE, and Philips blubs. I think these brands are the biggest players in the LED market. Philips compared to the other guys is the Apple of LED's. Sure other copanies can get the job done, but Philips has the best engenering going into each and every LED blub designed. I have had the Philips SlimStyle lights for about 7 months now, and I wanted to wait to write a review. I have used the 40w versions and 60w versions of this slim style blub all across the home. I use the 40w models for outdoor lights the stay on all night. They have made it through 80° nights in a sealed light housing on each side of the garage and have made it running below 15° nights. I have the 60w versions in all celing fans and they produce more than enough light. The design of the blub dissipates heat and allows the blub to stay fairly cool to the touch. These are the best blubs currently made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Philips SlimStyle 40W light bulb I like the style and brightness of this light bulb. I recommend using this bulb in yourtable lamps, since it is "dimmable" and lasts and lasts. I now have 4 installed in my house and plan on at least 4 more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent color balance, nice design This bulb is warmer and easier on the eyes than the `60w' version I bought with it. It puts out more light than a 40w incandescent lamp and uses far less power. Overall, an excellent product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from save electricity sale price was very good. saves energy but may need a newer dimmer switch for proper operation. my switch installed in 2000 would not work very well with dimming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light, very little heat We liked the first two so well that we bought two more for other lamps. These give out much light with little or no heat.
