Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 25 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Daylight spectrum These lights put out out a white light spectrum close to natural sunlight, not the yellow of typical incandescent bulbs. Plus, these only use 10.5 watts each, instead of 60 watts for a bulb putting out less light. No heat out of these, so they are not suitable for heating a pump house, or use in a food dryer. I am converting all my incandescent house bulbs to these, to save on electricity, and enjoy the better lighting. These are a whiter light than compact fluorescent bulbs too. Notice the light on the ceiling above the Phillips LED on the left, and that of the standard 60 watt on right. December 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice bright light that fit in the fixture The light is much brighter than the prior bulbs. They do have a strange shape, but the shape that I liked wouldn't fit into the track lighting cans. Also I'd struggled to keep the other expensive bulbs from blowing out after a few weeks. None lasted the long life their package promised. Because these bulbs are dimmable they may be better able to tolerate the fluctuation in the power we experience in our rural home. So far, so good. It has been several months. June 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HD: HAVE THESE IN STORE !! This is the time for stores to stock 4-packs of light bulbs since the government outlawed so many incandescents! WHY WON'T HOME DEPOT DO THAT??? That said, these bulbs have a combination of features that make them unique: 1. Shape/size: can fit in more spaces than curly fry mercury florescent bulbs 2. No heat sink! Tough plastic outer covering, so may be less breakable (I didn't want to lose a $10 trying) 3. DIMMABLE ! 4. Daylight The daylight color makes them very inviting. In recessed lighting, it gives the look of a sun tunnel. Don't know about their longevity (claimed 22.8 years, but florescents claim 7 and you get 2). In summary, if you want a daylight, dimmable LED using 9.5 watts, this is it. It's hard to swallow a near $10 light bulb, but these have performed nicely so far. August 5, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very happy with the results These are the first LED lights we have purchased for the home. We never noticed how the CFL's we had made everything look yellow. These LED's make everything look much more pleasant and at a reduced operating cost and heat. The cost was a great deciding factor along with the 5000K light produced. The 800 lumens does a great job only requiring two bulbs to do what it used to take 4 CFL's. At first we were concerned about the shape, unless you are staring at the bulb, it is not noticeable in a normal setting. In summary, These LED's greatly enhance the natural lighting, when the sun goes down we turn these on and get the same effects. We have only had these installed for a month, but am looking forward to acquiring more. May 19, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Bulbs We really like the light bulbs. Very good light. Price is a bit high compared to other LED bulbs. June 16, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good buy These are what they are. Nice bright light for the wattage burned. The light is whiter than I expected, after reading some of the other reviews but, it works. Think high wattage fluorescent. I have no dimmer switches, so I can't attest to their durability there. Currently using in a utility room and as a supplement light on houseplants. Working fine. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Finally a daylight LED for a reasonable price I have been waiting for this since the NYTimes article in January and it was worth it. LEDs are rarely bright enough to really replace halogens...but this one is. Completely dimmable, light as a feather since it is all plastic (versus heavy ceramic and glass of most). And 5000K daylight for under $10--Cree, Feit, etc all $14+ for 60 watt-equivalent at 5000K. If you like daylight and hate the heat of halogens especially...BUY THESE. Note to Philips: please make this with candelabra base April 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by REALLY GREAT BUY!!! The light is so crisp and bright! The fact that they are suppose to last for years is fantastic! Would recommend to anyone who is wanting a bright and crisp light! They also dim very well for those times you do not want it as bright. May 19, 2015
