So much better than incandescent yellow lights. Really brightens up a room. Does not get hot.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by guy Excellent LED replacement for my old 60 watt bulbs
I wish that Home Depot would also stock these in 75 watt versions. I like saving electricity (thus money), but would prefer increasing light output (lumens) as well. Since LEDs generate almost no heat, there is no good reason for not replacing existing bulb with brighter bulbs that will still use wattage than the one they are replacing.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MAZ EXCELLENT WORK LAMP BULB @ 5000K
I found this pan like slimsyle bulb to work very well in a work lamp. At 5000k it is a very bright cold white which will flood an area so you can see all the cracks and wrinkles. The bulb is encased in a soft flex plastic protecting it from abuse. I would not use this bulb for general lighting applications unless the fixture had at least a diffuser or frosted glass to cut down on the extreme cold white rendering. I heard that Depot was going to discontinue the 5000k version so I went out and bought five more for future use and constituents. Excellent for work lamps and its LED!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MarkHuss Bright, Compact, Perfect for small or large lamps
I was completely intrigued with the shape of this bulb. I had been looking for a good bulb to go in the lamp that sits on our dinning room buffet. It's a small lamp and traditional bulbs generate so much heat that it worries me.
Since this bulb was flat I wanted to give it a try. The fit was perfect and if you didn't know that the bulb was flat you wouldn't notice any variation of light - it really covers all the way around! But it's 5000K which is a notch brighter than direct sunlight. It's not fault of the bulb, I just wanted something warmer. Keep that in mind with all your bulbs - 4800k is the brightness of Direct Sunlight. and the higher it goes the more blue. The lower it goes the more yellow/orange.
Burns cool to the touch, awesome strength and design.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wally Seems to work good but when I try to dim it, it goes off.
The light bulb seems to work good, but when using adding machine, it is now very hard to see the numbers. Makes the room look much brighter.

Finally an inexpensive LED bulb that dims..... Have a few of the old school 6 foot tall torchiere floor lamps..... We all know these lamps have 150 or 300 watt Halogen bulbs, get super hot, use tons of electricity and just plain dangerous near curtains or if knocked over ...... Alot of conversion instructions floating around online to use standard screw in bulbs or screw in CFL bulbs.... but all the bulbs used in the low watt conversion stuck above the rim.... ugly and blinding light coming from the sides....... so I put off converting my lights until I figured something out...... I know you can purchase drop in LED or SMD R7s style bulbs off the net, but seems all the reviews are not that great.....
So what is a plus, you can run over to HD, grab a couple porcelain sockets as I have pictured, a couple of these flat bulbs, couple wire nuts and thats it..... all bolt together... no drilling.... tweak around the brackets on the sockets, screw on to base, little wiring and good to go..... these flat bulbs are the ticket for this conversion,,, bulbs don't stick above the rim, work with the lamp dimmer switch and just as bright as the 300 watt halo bulbs.... and only 21 watts used at full bright.... and not as nearly as hot..... you will spend more time cleaning all the dead bugs and moth's that seem to roast alive in these style lights while doing the conversion :)

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Mike Great bulb, super bright, good price..NOT DIMMABLE AS THE PACKAGE SAYS
Great bulb for normal applications but if you want a truly dimmable bulb...this is not it. If you put this in to a circuit with a dimmer, it will only very slightly dim down...but not even close to that of a normal bulb. Nice try guys...but this just does work if you want a dimmable bulb that is not just a novelty item.
