Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by cylofe Pay 2 dollars more for dim and slick design
I love the design, and its ability to dim. You can get the same round, non-flat, non-dim version for maybe ~$2 each. But these babies last so long the extra $2 dollar gets you this kind of style, which fits really well into a modern / contemporary home.
The only trouble is if you are trying to fit this flat or vertical into a base, you might have to unscrew it from the tight position to get it to line up. It still seems to work even when not fully screwed in, so I guess it's not too bad after all.
Finally, note it is not meant for use in fully enclosed space. This is too bad but it is a common thing for LED bulbs.

Have these lights over a bathroom vanity, plenty of light and I like the fact their cover is plastic instead of glass. Great lights!

I bought a three pack and am going back for more. I recomend you buy a one or three pack and see if it fits your lighting set up. The lights DO get hot! They are cool to the touch if they are off for a while and then you touch them. They look kinda funky but distribute light evenly. If they are placed in a bathroom they may be viewable by guests but it may be a conversation starter if the food you cooked didn't turn out so well. They are bright and do turn on like a standard bulb. Don't know if they will really last 22 years like the box estimates but it's a step in the right direction.

I did have slightly mixed results. I first tried two of the bulbs in the open fixture over my breakfast table and they did not work. I then used one in the light bar over the bathroom sink and was very happy with the result. In spite of the flat shape of the bulb, the light is spread evenly. It also is brighter than the sixty watt incandescents it is meant to replace. I'll be watching for future sales on this to buy more. I downgraded the overall rating and quality due to it failing to work in the first fixture. Also note that these are not meant for use in closed fixtures, which keeps me from using it some places.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Zippy Over 100 installed, 200 to go.
We are using these lamps in our hotel. I have 50 of the 8 watt that have been in use for over 18 months with no problems. These are on dimmers. Just installed 100 of the 10.5 watt, working great. We have over 200 more to go. We will be purchasing these soon.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ctobob Good light, low power, runs cool, looks cool
I've been waiting for the Philips SlimStyle bulb to show up since seeing the annoucement late 2013. Not only does it have a great price for an LED bulb but it's lightweight and runs cool. I was concerned that it might not cast uniform light because of its shape, but in a lamp with a circular share there's no perceptible variation of the brightness coming through the shade. I can't tell the orientation of the bulb without looking under the shade.
I also have one in my office in a hanging Ikea paper lamp and I'm usually fussy about the color of light in my office (I don't run the overhead fluorescents) and the SlimStyle casts a soft warmish light without being so warm that I feel like I'm in a bedroom.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rollins Nice bulbs with one caveat.
Initially I was very excited to install these bulbs, but we soon discovered that some of the bulbs generated a very noticeable buzz when installed in our recessed light fixtures. Others only emitted a mutted humming sound. In other fixtures in our house they were fine. We have not yet tried them with a dimmer, but will try that soon. We both like the light they provide, and that the are instantly at full capacity when the light switch is activated. I would recommend them with the warning to pay attention to any noise they might generate in your fixtures.
