Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Great Door For the Price The door is very well made, well packaged, and looks great when hung. We bought this to use as a door to our commode to replace a "saloon door." We stained it, put "rice paper" film on the glass panes, and added oriental style pulls and it came out great. One thing I will say is that the wood did not take the stain well on our first try. We then tested several mixtures as wood conditioner, including Minwax's commercial brand. But what worked best for us was a mix of vegetable oil and white vinegar... the wood took the stain beautifully. Overall, very happy with this purchase. August 4, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful But Poor Manufacturer Packaging These doors are beautifully made and look spectacular in my home. We were looking for a rustic barn look but needed light to filter from one room to the next. We stained them with Minwax in color special Walnut and achieved the look we wanted. Unfortunately, upon opening the box, we realized it brought the wronfg size track. We had hired someone to install the doors for us and wasted his time and our money for the day. The company over nighted one but was frustrating to have to wait another week for my contractor to be available. Home Depot service was impeccable but Pinecroft gets a big fat Zero on this one!!! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good door but pay up for painted door if you want it white Solid attractive door. In some corners there was separation of the wood frame I needed to repair with wood filler, but almost to be expected. If you want a white door, pay up the additional $100 to get it painted (I am assuming it is a well-done job). It took me over 6 hours to sand, tack cloth, prime, and carefully paint this sucker--20 frames per side, so a total of 40 window frames to paint, and with 2 coats (I should be putting on a 3d but cannot bear to), 80 frames to paint. Then, there is the careful razoring around each frame and removing the film from the glass. Now, touch up. I painted it white, and wish I paid up for the painted door. Installation was a breeze. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value for the Money I bought these for use as 2 separate doors (french doors), not bifolds. The general quality of construction was acceptable. Doors and glass all arrived in good shape. Several hinges were misaligned and missing screws, but that didn't matter as I removed all of them. Many of the horizontal mullions had big gaps (up to 1/8th ") where they met the vertical frame members so that I had to fill them before putting on the finish. Plastic wrap on the glass was difficult to remove (needed a razor blade) as it was applied over each whole pane of glass before it was installed in the door - they didn't just peel off. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great door purchase Hope they can find an easier way yo remove the plastic film coating on the windows. I installed 2 double-fold sets, so I had to remove 80 films...wow, what a task. April 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Product shortage I am not able to rate the doors because when my carpenter finally got started installing the doors he realized one door did not have hardware with it! So I'm very disappointed because they will not be installed before Christmas and I need to find my paperwork so I can call to get these parts sent out to me! December 17, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good door, but not built to stated specs Ended up ordering two doors. The door, contrary to the picture, is not primed. It is raw pine. Not a huge deal but the 2nd issue is. The door is not a true 80 1/2" height door, contrary to the specs on the site. It is a bifold, and consequently is about two inches shorted to accomodate the rails, etc. Do not purchase door if you think this will be a replacement for an existing 30" width opening door. So I returned the first door, as Home Depot then ordered another one for me thinking the next would be the right height. Not the case, but ended up keeping it and will make it work. Door itself is solid, and appears well made. Home Depot ended up making it worth my while to keep it, though I have to built the door taller and prime/paint. August 21, 2010
