I didn't use them as bifold doors but rather as an architectural detail on either side of a large entryway from main hallway into living room, think sidelights without a door between them. They are bare wood and needed to be prepped and sanded like you would with any bare wood project. I found the wood scratches very easily, so I primed, sanded, primed, sanded, painted, sanded, painted, light sanding final top coat. So all in all there are five coats of paint, 2 primer and 3 of the final color. They look beautiful for what I used them for however the film covering the glass so painting is easier were a real bear to get off x 40! I say I would recommend this product as it is what I needed and if I could have found old used one at a salvage I would have preferred that but I couldn't. I also bought French doors for the entryway from living room into dining room and these bifolds were almost the same price as the prehung French doors. So I stand by they are a bit pricey all things considered.

PRODUCT WAS OF GREAT QUALITY. INSTALLATION WAS FAIRLY EASY (IT WAS INSTALLED IN AN OLD HOME AND DOORWAYS AREN'T ALWAYS SQUARE). PLASTIC ON GLASS ALLOWED STAINING WITH EASY. (HINT REGARDING REMOVAL OF THE PLASTIC AFTER STAINING - LIGHTLY SCORE THE PLASTIC AROUND THE WINDOW FRAME WITH A SHARP UTILITY KNIFE BEFORE REMOVING ALLOWS EASY REMOVAL). PERFECT REPLACEMENT DOOR FOR THIS APPLICATION

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Norma good quality, nice grain
Door moves easily, nice glass, feels sturdy (many of these bifold doors feel too flimsy; this one doesn't). Only downside -- tacky doorknob. Will likely replace it.

We have already purchased three of the unfinished pine bifold doors with the real glass individual panes, and they arrived safely with nothing damaged. We did a little sanding, primed, and painted them and they look great. Having that peel-off paper on the glass makes it easy to get a professional straight edge with no taping all those windows! Now we are ordering 3 MORE bifold doors of this size, and one more a little less wide. The bifolds help with furniture arrangements in a room, and really save wall space. I'm really sold on using them. Our previous order arrived quickly and were placed in the garage by the carrier. Since each box weighs over 80 pounds, it is a good idea to have a spot ready for their arrival.

The door was all solid wood, unfinished. I am a single woman and was able to install it all by myself in only a couple hours.
The panes had a plastic covering that saved me much time when I painted it. Only draw back was the removal of the plastic once done. There were no instructions. I did get it off but was a little frustrating. Over all this was just exactly what I wanted and would recommend this product.

I am very pleased with this purchase. Doors are thick, heavy, well-made. Wood will require a bit of sanding before painting, but not much. Glass is completely covered with plastic which will make it a breeze to clean up after painting. No need for blue tape or razor blades! And shipping was fast...and FREE!
