We want more natural light for an office, but if we move, the room is really intended as a bedroom so we need something fairly opaque. thanks, darci

Answer:
The Decora pattern is listed as a "medium privacy." The nearer to the face of the block you are, the more detail you can see. You can see an illustration of this by viewing the plant behind the three patterns at this link. http://pittsburghcorning.com/files/product-literature/guardwise-basement-windows.pdf

Answer:
If you put your face up to the glass and try to look through, you see distorted images in the room beyond. If you put something right up to the glass, you can see it clearly from the other side.

Privacy question

I will be converting a floor-to-ceiling exterior window to glass block in what will be my steam-shower room. I'd love to use the block with vertical lines (classier and more privacy), but it is more than double the price of this block (go figure). So with THIS block, my question is about its degree of privacy.

If a person is showering about 16" away from a window with this particular glass block, would it provide adequate privacy? (Another property is about 20 feet away.)

What if a person stood almost right against the block, does the privacy lesson?

I'm not prudish... in fact a little risqué; but I'm thinking about houseguests who may be skittish about inadequate privacy. Hence my question.

Answer:
If you put your hand (or anything else) on the glass, you can see it clearly from the other side. But if you stand away from the glass, and the viewer is further away as well, you can see only colors and possibly distorted shapes.

Answer:
The Decora pattern glass block offers a medium degree of privacy. Images a visible throughthis pattern. The nearer you are to the window, the more detail would be visible. Beyoud 18-24" images are still visible but without detail.

Answer:
The actual size of a 12x12x4" glass block is 11-3/4" x 11-3/4" x 3-7/8." The channel used with the 12x12x4" block is the Perimeter Channel Premiere Series. Use the 40" ProVantage Horizontal Spacer in horizontal joints. Cut the 40" ProVantage Horizontal Spacer to size (11-1/2") to create the Vertical Spacers.

Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product I have bought this before but it is a terrific product that I hand etch images on for accents for bathrooms and lighted installations. Every block is identical, no surprises and arrived faster than expected. July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful I originally wanted clear blocks but these have the perfect contrast to the solid glass door they are encasing. Frames door even better than I imagined. May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great item and I have ordered more I am finding more uses for this and so ordering more February 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful & solid We used these on an interior wall to bring a little natural light to a room which had none. Using a strong clear epoxy, we stacked them vertically to make 1'x3' windows. You can see through them but the wave adds just enough distortion to abscure the view from either side. We are very pleased with the outcome. August 21, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by as expected the glass blocks where very good packed , no damage on the glass corners August 26, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great style i purchased and installed these blocks as replacements for eight ordinary i/8" window pane lites beside a front door. The upgrade is impressive and closely coordinates with the existing crinkled glass in the door itself and eliminates the need for interior sheers. The insulating ability of these sealed glass blocks are a plus as well. I am glad to see a return to these stylish items that were hugely popular throughout the 50's and 60's. March 16, 2007
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Bath Addition I bought 16 of these block in an icescapes design to add light above my whirlpool tub in the master bath. They look great! I especially like the design in the glass block. It provides the necessary privacy needed in the bath with the added natural light I love so much! January 22, 2007
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful! We installed these in a staircase wall and they look beautiful! We were very glad the size was exactly as stated as we framed before we even had the blocks in hand - and they fit perfectly. June 20, 2013
