Answer:
Yes. 1/2 inch Glass drillbit was all we could find you may be able to find bigger but it will take a while to drill it (20 to 30 minutes per hole) and then you'll have to rinse out the inside with water but be careful not to use cold water on hot glass it will break.

Answer:
Yes, Use a diamond core bit. I used an 5/8" diameter. Create a small circular dam of plumbers putty & apply it to the glass block. Use a small cup of water & fill the dam with the water.
The water keeps the bit from overheating.
I used a drill press, but you could use a hand held drill, but drill slowly. It takes about 5 minutes per hole applying light pressure to the drill bit.
Just as the bit cuts

I used a drill press, but you could use a hand held drill, but drill slowly. It takes about 5 minutes per hole applying light pressure to the drill bit.
Just as the bit cuts through the glass block, you'll hear the vacuum of air escape the block.
It can be startling the first time you do it

Answer:
Yes you can drill a hole to put lights in them. Drill very careful with dimond bit and be sure to use some kind of coolent - water will work. or they could break. You have to clean the glass dust out and the bet way is with water. Then you can dry more quickly by putting into a 275 degree oven until dry. Hope this helps youl Barb

Yes, you just need a diamond glass drill bit. I got mine on EBAY $9. Make sure you drill under water or it will shatter.

Answer:
It is not recommended to cut or drill glass blocks. During manufacturing, there is a slight vacuum built up inside the block and they have a tendency to implode if cut or drilled. There is a DecoBloc available with a 1-1/4 x 4-1/4" hole in one end for crafts.

Answer:
You could purchase a GuardWise window through The Home Depot in nominal sizes between 12x18" and 40x48" (actual sizes will be slightly smaller) in 2 inch increments. To install thesw windows, you will need a type S mortar for the sides and bottom, expansion material and caulk for the top joint.

Decora 7-3/4 in. x 7-3/4 in. x 3-1/8 in. Thinline Glass Blocks (10-Pack) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Three of 10 were broken I purchased a box of these for a craft project, when I picked them up and looked in the "open" box three were broken, the store associate was so helpful. She called customer service to see if we could just order the three replacements and they said NO, I had to return ALL in the box and reorder another box! They were not accommodating at all offered me 10% discount! That's only $4.00 when the blocks break down to $4.00 EACH! I decided to order another box because I need the blocks, I will return the broken ones! Online supervisor Sequence Garner was no help, she's the worst, most online customer service reps are so helpful with broken items and HomeDepot.com's customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Other Uses! I love these tiles for something other than their purpose. I make Christmas gifts with them. If you use a drill bit for glass and drill a hole large enough to put in a single string of Christmas lights, then wrap it with wide ribbon and put a big beautiful bow on the top they make great centerpcs. Some people put them on their porch with other decorations. It looks like a lighted wrapped gift. Everyone in my family, and friends have loved them.
