Answer:
Pittsburgh Corning does not have any test data on the horizontal application of glass blocks. Therefore, we cannot recommend this type of installation.

Answer:
I do think they would hold up. I used them in a mail box column with clear silicone sealing between each block. One full winter with no leaks. The glass is quite thick. They might get scratched a bit from people walking on them with small pebbles in the shoe bottoms.

Answer:
4x8x4 glass blocks can be laid either vertically or horizontally and can be "staggered," however, you will also need a 4x4x4" block at the end. The 4x4x4 blocks have been discontinued and the only pattern that is available in a 4x4x4" block is the IceScapes Pattern and they would need to be purchased in even cartons of 8 blocks/case.

I need an 8x4x4 bull nose for the end of my shower wall but it appears that size doesn't exist. What are my options for making a finished edge with the 8x4x4 field block?

Answer:
All finishing unit End Blocks have the finished end (bull nose) running an 8" dimension. To finish off other size/shapes of glass blocks, you can cut pieces of ceramic tile, glass tile, etc., to the size/shape of the ends of the blocks and attach them to the blocks.
