As you mention, we do not recommend adding color to our grout and so, we do not have a suggestion. If you want to substitute a grout, you might try an epoxy grout. Some of those are available in colors. Note, however, the use of other products voids any warranty. Keep in mind also that you will only see the color at the surface of the panel. Answer:
The smallest recommended mortar joint is 1/8" (largest recommended is 5/8") Note: The product you show (ProVantage Grout) is not mortar. The Grout is used with a silicone sealant installation - either the ProVantage installation for the 4" blocks or the ThinLine Track Spacer System for the 3" blocks. The spacers used in these installation create a 1/8" joint.

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Expensive, but necessary. I was surprised at the small amount of product for the price. I considered purchasing regular grout and mixing it with a compound to make it more water proof, but didn't want to cause problems with my project down the road. This works great of you follow the installation instructions. Don't mix too much water into it, but it is expensive for the amount you get. April 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pleased with results Was easiest used with small batches @ approx1/3 of container at a time , once I figured that out it was close to like grouting tile October 7, 2014
