I purchased two units of this flat panel LED light for kitchen remodeling.
The original ceiling lights were two light bulbs. The junction boxes for the light bulbs were nailed under the joist. It was difficult to install the can light at the same locations. I decided to use flat panel light instead of can light.
For the installation, you may skip using the Install Bracket. Here is what I did:
1) Use the mounting plate as the template on the ceiling. Mark the four holes with pencil.
2) Drill the four holes
3) Put the mounting plate back and use the Toggle Bolts to secure the plate
I caulked the small gap between the ceiling and the flat panel after the installation.
Both lights hum like crazy when a 3-way Lutron LED dimmer is connected. It is an unknown mystery. Regular 3-way switch with no dimmer function works fine.
Attached are two photos showing the kitchen before and after the light is on.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SJL3 High efficiency light source for surface mounting
I have used these 1 ft. x 1 ft. LED FlatLight Luminaires by Pixi in hallways, closets, and small work areas throughout our offices. The give off plenty of warm light for the 15W draw.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Daviator Great light and modern look
I bought and installed a bunch of these fixtures (11 in total, I think, mostly this size but a couple of larger 2x2 foot ones too) in a condo I am renovating. They are pretty easy to install and after working through the "gotchas" on the first couple, I was able to install the others in about 20 minutes each. Because they mount flush to the ceiling or wall, they do require that they be mounted centered on the electrical box, because the wires and a little "bump" in the center of the fixture itself need to push up into the ceiling (or wall) or you won't be able to mount them. (This created a problem for me in one instance, where I was trying to maneuver around a hard-wired smoke detector that we near the ceiling box and I couldn't offset the light fixture as I'd have liked. I ended up moving the smoke detector and all was well.)
The look is sleek and modern and the light quality is fantastic. I am really pleased. Hopefully they will live up to their promised longevity as there is no way to replace the bulbs if they fail.

Replaced 1-bulb light in utility room with this fixture. Installation was quick and easy, and the light is brighter than the fixture replaced. LED light can be a bit strange in this configuration, but it's overall pleasant and very effective. We prefer getting away from less efficient and enviro-friendly designs, and this is the right direction. Time will tell if this price and level of efficiency means we never have to replace the bulb. (if that's even possible)

Short of mounting these on the bracket once it is attached to the ceiling these LED's are the way to go. It took some patience but I perservered. Note: If you are looking to use dimmers you need LED dimmers that are not usually in stock at the store. Had to purchase mine online as well. Good Luck!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Homeowner Good quality light. Needs good quality dimmer for it not to buzz
A little tricky to install, but solid and well made. The light is warm and comfortable. The fixture gives more light that I expected. Mine buzzed when not on full strength until I replaced my dimmer switch with a high quality one. The lights look very modern and clean. I am now going to replace my current hall lights with these.
Installation is a little tricky because the wiring needs to be tucked into the can as these are very thin. I suggest you hook in one side first, then tip the other side up while pushing the wires into the fixture can.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Southwest very bright!
I bought two for my kitchen to replace two old sconces. The amount of light was a bit overwhelming! I tried to buy an appropriate dimmer switch, but I would have needed to gouge out a twice-larger electrical box in order to get the right dimmer in place. (The electrical box is shared with some other lighting circuits -- it's an old house with masonry walls.) So, instead, I discovered that the lights have a small recess built into the front panel that allows you to slip a thin sheet in front of the panel, to dim the lights. We then turned this into a decoration -- the thin sheets are drawings that my son made.

This light provides great coverage in my 10x10 kitchen. I was considering recessed lights in my kitchen, but this did the trick without putting holes in my ceiling. Installation was easy until you try sliding the fixture onto the bracket. That really took some work getting it to latch in place. As you can see from the picture, there's a slight gap between the light and the ceiling. Some caulking can take care of that if needed. Try to keep the protective plastic on during installation. It's difficult to clean dirt from the plastic light cover. Overall I'm very happy with this product and look forward to putting larger ones in my garage.
