Customer Questions & Answers

How can i cut them to the size i need? Also is there another piece that i need to cover the end of the tile when done?

Asked by: roz
Thank you for your interest. You can use a table saw, circular saw or jig saw; use a finishing blade for the finest cut. In regard to whether or not you need to cover the tile, I assume you mean in an area where you are transitioning across to or down to another surface. We do offer transition strips on To transition to another surface of similar height, you would use cap and track transitions; to transition down to something, you would use Peel and Stick transitions.

Can this tile be used in a bathroom and a toilet set on it

Asked by: jstme
Thank you for your interest. Yes, it can be used in a bathroom. We recommend you do not set the toilet on top of the tiles however, rather, you should cut the tiles to go around the toilet and use caulking. In addition, for any areas where large amounts of water may fall on top of the tiles, we recommend the use of our seam sealer Application of this during installation will create a water-tight seal.

Customer Reviews

Red Oak 18.5 in. x 18.5 in. Interlocking Waterproof Vinyl Tile with Built-In Underlayment is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from drawbacks I got this product because of the appeal of having an interlocking floating floor that did not require much prep of the flooring underneath. I live in a 108 year old house, that shifts, has dips in the floor and also had cracked and gapping asbestos tile that was hidden by carpeting. The vinyl wood grain is awesome. The tiles are heavy and the rubber underneath is hard and dense. This would be perfect for a basement. It is not easy to manage in a room that is not square and requires a lot of work to do the edges. However, laying down the center of the room with whole tiles is very easy. One problem is that the tiles can only interlock in a specific way. You have to have the interlocking edges facing the same way for each tile. So, to tile a small, odd corner in the room, I had to waste material. You cannot readily use the scraps. Unless you have a room in which the edges will be nine inches or less all the way around, you waste tiles. After having the tiles down a few days, the teeth at the edges began to show through. They do not interlock in a tongue and groove fashion. They overlap each other at the edges with one strip of triangular teeth above snapping onto a strip below. Although the vinyl is very thick and it is hard to imagine any bump showing through, the edges of many of my tiles have faint triangle patterns all around the edges now that a week has passed. If it were not for that, I would recommend this product wholeheartedly. As I have seen others mention, in some cases the corners do not go down flat... but that is readily addressed with a flooring hammer. At this point, having done all the work to lay down this flooring, I do not intend to haul it back up and return it. But, I would have selected another product had I known the outcome.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Need to take into account the wood grain design and direction of the tiles during installation. The tiles were fairly easy to install using a dead blow hammer and carpenter's square. They seem to scratch easily but not too hard on the feet. Matched the wood grain of the tiles during installation to make the room more aesthetically appealing. No need to make this effort on the stone designs. A couple of tiles had nicks but placed them in the back.
