Hi. I got such panels for replacement of my broken ones. It turns out that this one is about 1 inch longer than what I need. I did not find one with different size. What would be the best way to fix the size? The panel is so fragile so I imagine sawing it would be difficult? Thanks!

You need to get the Plaskolite knife and score the backside and cut it to the proper size. Watch the video.

Answer:
You can cut styrene based panelsusing two ways. 1. Using sharp utility scissors/snips and carefull cut a straight edge. Recommend you place tape along the cut line to help keep thesheet from splintering. 2. You can use a plastic scoring tool to score and snap the sheet as needed. Be sure to use a straight edge (ruler) along the score line when snapping.

There are too many variables involved so without further information we can not elaborate. You can call our customer service team with more information and they can reaserch further if you would like. 800-421-0102

23.75 in. x 47.75 in. Cracked Ice Polystyrene Light Panel is rated 2.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very flimsy and brittle I looked in my local HD and these were all broken already. After examining them it was clear to me that even if they were intact I would never get home with them in one piece let alone having to trim also. I purchased the ones for a little over $10 and I am very happy with them. They trimmed easily and look great. One tip, forget the cutter use a sharp utility knife. It does it faster and makes a thinner cut.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Careful, very fragile and brittle I needed to trim this panel for a project. Using my best techniques including taping the cut and using a sharp blade to score it, it shattered along the cut line. Not happy with the now jagged edges.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap and flimsy I went to my store intending to buy the Optix brand. Naturally, my store did not have any in stock even though online it said they did. I bought this Plaskolite instead and am not happy with the cheap quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looking Good Needed to replace lighting in the Kitchen and decided to go with this type light fixture. We had already tried at least three different light fixtures and none worked as we had hoped. Got these put in and just the right amount of light we needed. Yes, they are a little flimsy but they are light and works great. Does not look cheap either. But who goes around looking at peoples ceiling anyway.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Extremely fragile As others have noted this material breaks if you give it a harsh look. One way to make it somewhat more durable is to use clear packing tape on the smooth side along all the edges. This gives it a bit more strength, but still allows it to flex so you can get it in the frame. I wouldn't recommend this material because of its fragility, but if you need it you probably have no other choice.
