i want to use standard decking, pressure treated wood, to match the rest of my dock. I can't tell if the wood would sit on top of the frame and cover the edges or if the wood lays in the frame held down by the edges. Also, how is the wood secured to the frame or is it free floating? Can you use deck screws and drill into the frame like joists?

Answer:
The wood for the decking sits on top. We recommend you attached it with #10 1 1/2" all purpose screws directly into the aluminum frame. If you have any additional questions please let us know. We can be contacted by telephone at 1-888-PLAYSTAR (752-9782) where you will be immediately greeted by a real live voice.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic ! I bought 10 (4x10) sections and assembled one by following the instructions, which were very well written. Once I knew all the steps needed, I was able to work in a assembly line fashion, finishing all in one area before moving my hardware containers (separated) to the next area. This allowed me to cut the time of frame assembly down from 1hr 15 minutes to about 1 hour per section.(on floor assembly) Installation of the resin top was straight forward. Then the tightening up of it all. Overall I would say that I averaged about 2 1/2 hours per unit. The kit is perfectly machined, everything lines up thus allowing me to assemble 10 sections, all by myself, in about 3 days. Assembled 4x10 with resin top is about 180 lbs. July 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I LOVE THIS KIT I bought two of these kits and all I can say is the craftsmanship of these kits are amazing. The specs are exact (not even a fraction off). This is the only kit that I will ever use for all of my next projects. June 7, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A nice dock we put together ourselves We bought and put together a 3-section floating dock with resin top. It took us about 2 and a half days to put it together and get it in the water. This project is not for a novice DIYer. The instructions are not always very clear and a few parts had quality issues. In addition, you have to mark and drill a bunch of holes in the aluminum to put it together--not what you expect from what appears to be a kit. The bottom line is that we have a really nice dock for about two thirds what it would have cost to have someone put one in. July 31, 2012
