Customer Questions & Answers

How many cfm is the blower ?

Asked by: sasquatch
Believe me, the blower will blow more air than you will ever need. You will never run it on high. Heck I can't even turn mine on as it would drive me out of the 3000 sq ft log home.

How far away does it have to be from a back wall with stone on it?

Asked by: Star
If installed straight this model requires 16'' in clearance. If installed at an angle it requires 19'' clearance to the back wall.

Does it come with ash dispenser tray under the leg assembly?

I did not see this information, if you need to sweep the ashes out or there is a tray underneath that as wood burns through a grill or an opening ashes fall into the tray
Asked by: Ozzy
There is a tray underneath. Lift up the firebrick that has the ring in it and there is a hole there. I find it easier just to shovel them out the old fashioned way.

Pickup at Home Depot is great, it comes in a box, easily transported box atop a pallet, which is now keeping a stack of wood dry in our pile. Cheap and excellent, I love the viewing window. It's pretty easy to load, I generally prefer side-loading stoves, but it's got a big firebox that lasts all night. And you don't need a flue, even with a three story chimney that generally gets TOO MUCH draw. The ash catching lip is a great feature, I like the long handle, and it's easy to control the burn with the lever on top. Cleaning it out is easy, you just hook an eyelet on top of the central fire-brick and lift it out, there's room to set the brick on the ash lip, then you rake the ashes down. It's a beast too when you need it to be, if you have a day when it's down in the teens you can crank the thing and pack it, and it'll put out the BTU's aplenty. We have an 1800 ft. leaky 1870's boarding house we use it in, and it's enough to get the place quite comfortable even on a cold, damp day. The blower is great too, so cool it comes installed with the stove, you get so much more heat with the rear heat shield and the blower running. Great stove, really cheap, it's a new design that works like a charm, and you get great output, I believe the efficiency claims. It's even got a lower section in front that gets hot enough for cooking stews or cornbread. Do yourself a favor and stop shopping here...

It does not heat that well. We struggle to get the main room to 80 which thermostat is 15' from stove. Very disappointed. I have tried everything possible. I can barely get my stove pipe over 200 deg. If I do it's for a short time. I burn 6 cords in this. Way to much. We still use our furnace even when the stove is going. I can sit 2' from the stove just to keep warm. Our home is 1400sq. We are trying to heat half that as livable space. Our average temps are 10 deg. We have stone home with double pane windows. I called customer service asking why it's not hot. They sent a new glass gasket as the other one was shot. I can get second burn on this stove. But the stove gets colder. In about two hours my box is full of coals. I have to clean it out every day. It will soon be tossed.

We've had below freezing and below zero temps and this stove is heating the entire house...not just the lower 1900 sq ft. Turned on the ceiling fan (on winter setting) upstairs and we're at a comfortable 66 - 68 degrees. Downstairs it is a bit warmer! Very happy with the stove.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice size stove/Nice output I purchased the LWS-130291 at the end of October 2016; I use this fireplace as my main source of heat (as I live in Canada we get pretty cold during the winter). I love the size of the burning chamber and am very happy with the heat output. We are using it on the main floor of a 2000 Sq. Ft house. After about three months of constant use we had a small incident with the glass. I contacted GHP Group through their website and I have to say, it was one of the best companies I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. They contacted me quickly and even though they had the part that I needed on back order it arrived at my house way before we thought it would! I would recommend this fireplace to someone who is looking, and maybe just as importantly, the company that comes along with it. Thanks again HomeDepot/GHP; you’ll be my first stop when I pick up my second unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the real deal I have owned many wood stoves in my life and I can tell you, I know stoves. This stove is the most amazing stove I have ever owned. I burn the wood on my property and half of the wood I burn is what I call trash wood. I never cut a live tree, just my way. This stove will not only burn this less than desirable wood but make it last like it is oak. I don't ever leave feedback because I just don't have the time. I am writing this review because I am impressed. Just buy it as you will not be sorry. Best deal around.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product; Not so Good Service I purchased this stove in Sept. from the H.D. website; and was not happy to find out that the freight service that H.D. contracts out to was planning to drop this 324-lb. $900 purchase off at my curb. The distance from my house to my curb is over 100 yards; I'm a middle-aged woman and don't own a pick-up truck. So I had to have the freight company deliver it to my local H.D. store, instead of my home. The H.D. said that they'd deliver it up my driveway closer to my house - for an extra $60 dollars! So I had to pay an extra $60 to have the stove dropped off by the house instead of the curb. Now I was faced with the dilemma of how to get it into the house. My woodstove sat outside for several days; finally I ended up hiring a moving company to bring it into my house. This cost me another $200. Then I had to hire a chimney guy to bring out the chimney pipe and connect my stove to the chimney...another $65. I am really happy with my stove, which heats up a nice, large area in my home, and the stars are for the stove itself, but am extremely upset that H.D. didn't have a better delivery and installation plan for a wood stove purchased from their website, and didn't make this clear at the time of purchase either.
