Answer:
Depends on the dimensions of your wood stove door or doors, I guess. If you can slip the unit in the doors and turn it where it faces the front, it may look fairly realistic. But don't forget, you have to have to be able to run the cord out to plug it in.

I bought it for the same reason but have not installed yet. Take the measurements from opening and the inside of your stove and match logs dimensions. Allow for tilting to install. Since it is electric, do you have an opening in the rear to run the cord through or you will have to run the cord out the front. You will need to access the on/off switches that are on the side of the unit.

You said it draws 15 amps. Your installation guide says one amp. If it is 15 amps, it should heat a good size room.

The fireplace logs are a nice size, and very visible, especially if you sit this unit on some bricks to raise it up a bit off the floor of the fireplace. They look, to a nice degree, like a small fire with embers. The visual effect is good enough that it gives you the impression if you get close, you're going to feel warmth. But I'm glad you have the option of a separate switch to turn the "crackling fire' sound effects on or off. The sound is more like small fire crackers going off and, to me, doesn't sound at all like a pleasant little crackling fire. Subtle it is not. The manufacturer might want to revisit the idea that more is better. Louder isn't, and neither is popping and snapping this loud, erratic, and unrealistic. OK, it's a relatively inexpensive electric fireplace log set. But they did such a decent job on the visual part of it that it's a shame the sounds effects are so irritatingly bad.

I recently purchased this item to decorate for the holidays in South Florida.The item purchased was well constructed and the logs glow nicely.The only drawback was the "crackling" noise of the logs sound like gunfire.I do not think I could use this feature and you cannot adjust the volume. But overall it is a nice product.

This hearth looks very nice inside my chimney, I have in a small room, it works great,it heat nice., I like how the control works, very easy to use, the only thing it's that the flames could be seen a little high in the wall.

I read a lot of reviews prior to my purchase and they were pretty much correct.
The crackling noise is not quite what I expected but since the sound has its own
on/off switch, I decided it is still worth the purchase. The glowing lights are attractive.
I plan to put it inside an old wood burner stove at my cabin but have not done so yet.

Ever since my house burned down when I was a child I've been terrified of fire. I mistakenly thought that a faux fireplace log set might lend a certain ambiance and coziness to our living room. I couldn't have been more wrong. The eery glow of the fake fire and the recorded crackling track sent me straight into flashbacks of horror from my youth. The realism was too intense. I had to take half a xanax to calm myself down while my children wept in terror. This product should come with a warning label.

This came to me as a "you may also like" product. I had purchased the pleasant hearth electric insert for $169 and love it but had to take the back off. So when this was sent to me I thought "wonderful" this is a great gift for my mother. This way she can use it at her home as well and not have to worry about the back!! It was my fault for not researching it more, it has no heat, no remote, no ajdusting like the other one that I have. I took it back the same day and now I cant find the same one I have!!!!
