Answer:
Depends on the dimensions of your wood stove door or doors, I guess. If you can slip the unit in the doors and turn it where it faces the front, it may look fairly realistic. But don't forget, you have to have to be able to run the cord out to plug it in.

Answer:
I bought it for the same reason but have not installed yet. Take the measurements from opening and the inside of your stove and match logs dimensions. Allow for tilting to install. Since it is electric, do you have an opening in the rear to run the cord through or you will have to run the cord out the front. You will need to access the on/off switches that are on the side of the unit.

The door could remain open and the cord could then be plugged into a wall outlet.
Thanks for asking.

Answer:
No. It's realistic enough that you think you're going to feel heat of you stand near it, but it's visual effects only. Just pretty to look at.

You said it draws 15 amps. Your installation guide says one amp. If it is 15 amps, it should heat a good size room.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like the realistic glow of the logs but the popping sound is too loud. Sounds like firecrackers... I like the realistic glow of the logs but the popping sound is too loud. Sounds like firecrackers to us .The crackling sound is fine . We put a pillow under it to muffle the popping and that helps a lot . Black towels or carpet would work too.Sound comes out of bottom. We will work with it .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Embers are quaint The embers are quaint *IF* viewed through a set of doors. They look very fake. The crackles are awful and sound like they're coming through a tin can. All in all we will keep it since it's nice ambiance for a non-working, long-since-decommissioned-fireplace.

I have a double sided fireplace in Florida (just decoration purpose) and these logs look amazing and add to the Christmas decor. The sound it makes is kind of strange but it's not bothersome. We are really loving it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just received mine and really like it. Did not need a heater and unit does not come with a heater... Just received mine and really like it. Did not need a heater and unit does not come with a heater. There is no flame effect, only glowing ember effect that increases and decreases in different parts of the logs. One of the other reviews said it wasn't bright enough, which I agree with, so I put a string of red led christmas lights rolled up underneath the unit that gives the entire fireplace a warm red glow (see attached photo). The crackling sound effects is a separate power button that you can turn off while the glowing embers effect is on (two separate switches) which is good because the sound is ridiculously annoying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not What I Thought it would be The fire place log was for my wife and she was disappointed because it was smaller than expected. Although it was the right size for our fireplace. However, I would rate it low because it was not as bright as we expected. The add makes it look real bright and resemble a real fire. That's not what you get.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks better in real life than the picture online I got these as a gift for my sister because she had seen them online. I was a little skeptical because of some of the reviews but after I got them I was very pleased with the way they looked. The sound does need improvement but otherwise they are great.
