Does the top stay cool to the touch?

Yes. The heater is at the bottom.

Does it come with Remote control?

Asked by: Kai88
No remote with this model but you hardly need it. I rarely adjust the stove setting once I turn it on and that's one less remote to keep track of.

25 in. Vintage Iron Panoramic Electric Stove is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little heater. Warmed the room nicely. Love the vintage "cast iron" look. It's quiet and i like the no heat just flame feature!! I gave it 4 stars because i think the flame part could be a TAD more realistic..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A nice electric stove My Pleasant Hearth Panoramic Electric Stove, Vintage Iron, 25 in., arrived early and in good condition. I like the design, and the screens on the doors and sides give the flames a nice effect. The color is somewhat darker than depicted; in a room with normal lighting, it appears black, and in bright light, charcoal gray. The controls are basic: on/off (flames only) and 2 heat levels. I like that the flames can be used without heat. When the heat is on, the fan makes a low, steady noise, but it’s not too loud. The heat and flame features seem to work well, although I can’t give an opinion on the performance until I start using the heater regularly in a few months. The manual says there is an automatic shut-off in case of overheating. The body and doors are metal and the top, bottom and legs are plastic. The legs attached easily. The construction seems sturdy. Photos attached I’m happy with the purchase overall.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointing With the heat on it's annoyingly loud, and the fan can't be turned down low enough. It's brand new and already making a clicking sound. The fire/log fabrication is very fake looking, as is the flame. I'm going to try to return it, but I've discarded the packaging so I don't think you'll take it back. But I'm going to try.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money "Vintage Iron Stove?" False advertising!! At least 75% plastic with some sheet metal. "Poorly Made Junk" is a more accurate description. Arrived without the legs!! Returning it tomorrow. I had to give it at least one star to publish the review. Deserves ZERO stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nicely crafted, charming unit is a little underwhelming as a heater The design and craftsmanship of the stove is excellent. I'm surprised I like it as much as I do. The metal grating behind the glass serves to defuse the visibility of the fake log and flame elements which really helps to make it more believable. The scale of the stove seems ideal for our 22' x 14' room. The doors open and close with convincing sturdiness. The heat the stove generates is disappointing. It would never serve as a single heat source for a room but is fine as a supplement. I thought not having a remote would be annoying but I just don't adjust the output enough for that to even matter. And that's one less remote to track down. More control options, like a thermostat, are certainly lacking but excusable for this minor and secondary heat source. I am happy with the purchase and would recommend it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Repeat product purchase Purchased this product several year ago. The look of the flame was realistic and the heat it generated from its dual stage electric heater would warm our entire living room. We made a long distant move to Virginia and the heat did not work after that, so I feel that the quality of its workmanship might not be the best. However my wife enjoyed it very much so I thought to give this unit another try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly as shown Ordered this fireplace to use in front of our wood burning mantle fireplace as we hardly ever use it. It could not be more perfect, exactly as it is shown in photo. Often that is not the case when ordering. Easy to assemble legs. Love the 24" size as the 20" we had was just to small for this use. Light weight so if we want to use our wood burning fp we can just lift this one a few feet to the back of the sofa. The flames are very realistic and it's great having the switches in front. Looks good with the doors open also!.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks like a real fireplace I had one before this one and loved it After 7 or so years of use it died. I am not sure of the name of that one However this one is just like it only it has a low blowing heat and a high blowing heat and I love that. Right now I am using the low but when the winter really sets in I am sure it will be great. I use it on a sun porch where we stay most of the year. This makes it cosy out there.
