Customer Questions & Answers

I live where it is very windy, is this heavy enough that it willn't blow over?

Asked by: Dee46
Also live in a windy area. It is heavy enough that wind will not blow it over. But will likely rust out in less than three years.

Customer Reviews

30 in. Natural Slate Top Fire Pit is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Attractive but fragile During assembly the directions tell you to flip this on it's top which I carefully did so on a blanket. After attaching the legs you flip it back over and off you go... well in doing so a slate piece popped out already before even getting to use it. Not sure if it happened during shipping or assemble but I get the feeling it's the first of many to come.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Enjoy but beware Very functional cosmetically attractive. Be prepared to have the fire pit pan rust out and fall off while you are using it. Be prepared for the lid to rust completely. Be prepared for the spark catcher to rust out and fall apart. It was great for one season but everything happened by the beginning of the second. I used a high speed variable drill and some abrasive metal brushes to get the rust off of the metal cover but the collapse of the fire pit pan falling off while we were using it was totally unexpected. I'm pricing out the cost of a replacement pan. Cosmetically it still looks great. But be prepared...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works fine for us Purchased this unit last season. Never have used the poly cover, but moved it out of the weather in late spring. Just pulled it out again, noticed a little surface rust on the bottom tray, wiped it out with a little steel wool, gave it a shot of flat black spray paint and it looks new again...ready for another season.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy Two years and the bottom completely rusted out. Actually a 12" square, along with the fire starter, dropped to the patio while we were burning logs. Thank goodness the hose was right there.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Need new bottom for my fire pit The bottom rust out within a year or two , but it looks great and the rest of it holds up good . Still trying to find a new bottom . If someone could help that would be great. I would recommend this product if you could find the bottom insert easily .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! I've always liked being outdoors and enjoy going camping with my kids every year. The best part has always been the campfire and smores.... so needless to say this has been a big hit. It was my Christmas gift to myself. The pit comes with a cover and so long as you keep it dry it should be ok. If it does get moisture it will show some rust right away, but no big deal. Clean it up and keep it dry. I would buy it again if I had to.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pan rusted out We purchased this product less than three years ago. Stored it in the dry over winter and kept it covered in season with a waterproof fire pit cover. The pan has rusted out, making it unusable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple assembly this was purchased for my wife as a birthday present from her mother and the first thing that comes in mind is "oh great, just another project for this weekend". Let me tell you that it only took 10 minutes to assemble and all pieces were present. (Plenty of time to finish the corn-hole set). The only complaint that I have is the lid is smaller than the opening of the pit itself, this makes it awkward to place on the table and it's not a snug fit. Not cheaply made compared to everything else these days, good product overall.
