This is the second time I've ordered this exact fireplace. I had to return the first one because one of the holes on the doors where you screw in the handles wasn't an exact circle and not matter what I did, the screw wouldn't go through. My second one just came in yesterday and I just opened it up to install. Now there are TWO holes on the left bi-fold door with the exact same problem. Instead of it being a circle hole for the screw it looks kind of like the letter "D." I'm going to try and figure something out to make it work because it is such a pain to package it all back up and drive it back to a Home Depot. I have been looking forward to having my new fireplace for a couple weeks now so I'm very disappointed :(

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jacer24 Nice Cover. Difficult to mount.
The product is exactly what was advertised and is of good quality. However, the instructions leave something to be desired. The cover can be mounted at different heights to accommodate different sized fireplace openings, but the methods for adjusting the mounts is not clear at all. It took me 3 tries to get it right on my 2 foot high X 3 foot wide, fireplace. I strongly recommend a helper to assist with installation. The mounts themselves are also of a questionable design, thumbscrews that you are supposed to turn by hand, making it very difficult to get them tight enough to hold the cover in place. However, the cover I was replacing was of a similar design, so I guess that's just "industry below standard".

It was easy to install and it looks great! I love that the screen opens like little doors instead of the pull chain screen.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JuneInPoway NOT for faced masonry fireplaces
We bought the FP screen for our marble-faced masonry fireplace. The fit was accurate but the install is unacceptable.
The brackets and thumb screws to hold the screen in place securely are 1/2 too SHORT to reach properly......this the depth of the marble facing. The thumb screw to hold it from the sides actually hits exactly at the joint of the marble and the masonry.
I called Pleasant Hearth customer service and they were NO help.........said 'the screens are only intended for install on masonry'. They do not have any brackets that will add the vital extra 1/2 inch we need for a proper installation. They have no intention of making one available. They were NO HELP at all.
I will likely remove and return the screen to Home Depot and try to find a screen manufacturer that is more aware of the fact that MANY people have refaced their masonry fireplaces over the years!
I am an unhappy customer!!

overall we are happy with the product, The doors fit well, and look good, and seem to be solidly made,
A minor complaint, the product was not delivered with the insulation necessary to install as outlined in the installation instructions, so I had to use insulation I had around the house.
It could not cost that much to ship the product with a few more feat of insulation.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cooper Pleasant Hearth Ascot Small Glass FP Doors
The construction on the door was good quality. However it was too tall to install. Home Depot does not have the means to do a more custom order. For Example, my opening dimensions are 37 inches wide x 24 inches high. My fireplace is faced with big chunky rocks. What I need is a zero clearance masonry door. The top piece was about 4 inches too high. This may work if I had a smooth granite or marble face. I have located a company in MI. We are located in Oceanside, CA. I have priced the only 3 companies near us and one company had a sturdy door, but the glass is on the same door. You would have to slide the glass in and out for use which was a real safety issue. The other company's product was not only cheap but outrageously priced. Possibly they are working on commission. Based on my calculations that commission is about $500. I hope Lowes or Home Depot reads this and makes a more custom service available to us here in San Diego County.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Salty Extremely functional and very fashionable
These doors are exactly as the description explains and reasonably priced. We followed the directions for getting the correct size by using the measuring instructions on Home Depot's website. We probably could have gone with the medium, but sometimes less is more. We chose the tri-fold doors because we felt they take up less space when fully opened. The screen is actually two screen doors that close completely, which eliminates the need for an additional screen. Built in damper controls knobs are cool feature to help with air flow/size of fire. We recently had our mason fix the firebox and these doors were phase 2 of the remodel (phase 3 will be a nice mantle). Overall we are very pleased.

The glass doors look good. I was looking to replace the metal grate that was on my existing fireplace with a set of doors that looked simple. I hired a fireplace door installer to put the, in since I was renovating my fireplace and the brackets did not fit my exact fireplace. He got them in with a slight modification. They look good and we are happy with them.
