The stated dims. were 37" wide and 29-1/2" high, so my brick opening is 2-1/2" narrower and 6" shorter.

Ascot Small Glass Fireplace Doors is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 118.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fireplace door This fireplace door was easy to install and took about 2 hours to complete. I also sealed around the edges with fireplace sealant caulk for fireplaces. Looks amazing on. It really has made a huge difference in the temperature of the room. It seals the air flow from the fireplace. I would easily say 99% change. I know it will make a difference in my heating and cooling bills.

It's been installed for several weeks, and it is sturdier than the one I replaced. Installation was smooth, but measure carefully and understand that there is a spacer bar that comes with it that adds about 1.5" to the height at the bottom. Doors work very well and fit is good. Overall, very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent fireplace doors We used these fireplace doors on an old stone fireplace built in the 1890's. The doors had a "flexible enough" design that we were able to make them work even though the fireplace was not modern construction. Great value for the cost, especially compared to what custom doors would have cost us.

I bought this to replace existing doors that came when I purchased my house 10 years ago. They were rusting and letting in drafts. These doors arrived quickly and were very easy to replace. My husband did it in about 30 minutes while simultaneously watching a football game. Contrary to the difficulties some reviewers had, the only cursing was in response to plays on the tv. They look great! I wish I had replaced them sooner. I can't state how much it improved the look of my fireplace which is sort of a focal point in my living room, which was built in 1954. They doors and screens are easy to move and they have resolved the draft problem. Love them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor manufacturing This is the second time I've ordered this exact fireplace. I had to return the first one because one of the holes on the doors where you screw in the handles wasn't an exact circle and not matter what I did, the screw wouldn't go through. My second one just came in yesterday and I just opened it up to install. Now there are TWO holes on the left bi-fold door with the exact same problem. Instead of it being a circle hole for the screw it looks kind of like the letter "D." I'm going to try and figure something out to make it work because it is such a pain to package it all back up and drive it back to a Home Depot. I have been looking forward to having my new fireplace for a couple weeks now so I'm very disappointed :(

It fit perfectly into our fireplace and has been used daily since it's installation. The screen on the right side has fallen out three times but I am hoping the last time it was replaced, it was done more firmly and will not fall out again. Somehow some of the insulation has come out of the framework,. so we are getting some smoke on the fireplace, but I will ask the profession who installed it for us to return to see if he can fix it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The fireplace doors look great! The fireplace doors were packed well and arrived in perfect condition. Installation was fairly easy and the instructions were clear. I thought I would be able to install them by myself, but ended up needing a second person to hold the doors in place while securing them to the fireplace. The doors look great. I haven't actually built a fire yet because the weather is still warm so I cannot comment on the functionality or durability at this time.

Others I looked at are more expensive. I just installed it over the weekend. I thought that I would have no problems installing the doors because my existing doors are installed basically the same way. Look at your lintel or angle iron that the top brackets are attached to. Mine is not a true right angle, but rounded a little, enough that the lintel clamp would not work. Look at the YouTube installation for the Pleasant Hearth Ascot. The alternative way is to drill a hole in the lintel and use the supplied thread cutting screws that are not very good quality. You have to have a VERY good high speed drill bit and electric drill with a high speed. It is very difficult to drill into the lintel. I'm hoping the screws hold. Time will tell how this holds up. My other I had for 30 years which was made by Sunbeam.
