Will these fireplace doors work with our field stone hearth?

We would fill the gaps between the field stone with concrete to create a flat surface for the doors frame to lay against once installed. The inside of the fireplace is brick with an iron lintel. We would purchase a large since the fireplace is 37" wide and 32.5" tall. See picture. Thank you.

The finishes were clean and everything worked as designed, except one item; the installation. The engineering that went into the design process is cheap, and ineffective. It basically uses its own weight to hold itself to the wall using 2 flimsy brackets. I am pretty handy and this thing slid down over and over. maybe it was due to the paint on the brick but it is still an issue. In my case I had to machine brackets and add anchors into the brick so it would stay firmly over the opening of the fireplace. If you do not have access to the tools needed to secure the doors to the brick, I recommend you choose a different brand or have an installer put it in for you. Additionally, when you do your measurements and the masonry around the firebox is brick, remember to add an additional inch at least to your opening size. This is for the recessed grout lines between the brick. If the frame is close to the size of the opening you will be able to see the flame through the area between the frame and the recessed grout line. I am sure this is not safe ad will allow smoke and fumes to enter the house from around the frame. The also throw some insulation in a roll for you to insert in the frame. What they do not include is something to hold the insulation in place. It slid out on me 3 times before I created something to hold it in place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality and value. Love the look of these doors against my fireplace. I purchased these doors after seeing them in my brother’s fireplace. They come mostly assembled and what parts need assembly are easily assembled with hand tools. I purchased the Large size doors for my brick fireplace, which is roughly 28H x 36L and the fit is perfect. According to the manufacturer’s sizing information, I could use Medium or Large doors for my fireplace opening. I decided to purchase the Large doors to allow for the widest view into the fireplace as possible. The doors come with a metal spacer that installs under the doors for a taller opening, which I didn’t need for my fireplace, so rather than discard the spacer, I used a construction adhesive and cemented the spacer to the brick hearth at the base of the doors. This gives a nice dimensional look to the doors without obstructing the doors from opening/closing. The fit and finish of the doors is very good, and when properly screwed down to the lintel bar, they are solid and don’t move. While not air-tight, the glass doors serve to prevent cold air from entering my home as well as heat loss up the chimney significantly better than a spark screen alone. While the fireplace is in use, the manufacturer recommends the glass doors be open to prevent damage from heat. A secondary set of doors constructed of metal mesh screening nestled behind the glass doors remains closed while the fire is burning to safely contain sparks and burning embers in the fireplace without obstructing view of the fire. It also serves to keep young children and pets out of the fireplace while the fireplace is in use. These doors come in a variety of styles and finishes to coordinate with your style of home. My fireplace is a focal point in my family room and receives a good amount of use in the winter, for heat but also for ambience. I am very pleased with these doors and recommend them to others.
