Will these fireplace doors work with our field stone hearth?

We would fill the gaps between the field stone with concrete to create a flat surface for the doors frame to lay against once installed. The inside of the fireplace is brick with an iron lintel. We would purchase a large since the fireplace is 37" wide and 32.5" tall. See picture. Thank you.

An option to seal the surround is rock wool, the material used for glowing embers in vented gas logs. The wool can be placed between the stone and the metal frame to fill gaps. This might be easier than cement, and the color is similar.

Hi okkids,

According to the measurements of your fireplace opening, the small Easton Fireplace Doors will fit best. The small set has measurements of 30'' tall and 37'' wide which will sufficiently extend over the opening of your fireplace.
Be sure to read and heed the manufacturer's safety warning:
"Never close the Fireplace Glass Doors while a fire is burning in the fireplace!
This Fireplace Glass Door is intended for installation on a masonry fireplace only.
Do not use this glass door on a pre-fabricated fireplace.
To determine the type of fireplace:
A. Masonry Fireplaces are constructed of brick and mortar with a brick chimney.
B. Pre-fabricated Fireplaces have a metal firebox and a sheet metal duct chimney.
A Pre-fabricated Fireplace, also called a Zero Clearance Fireplace, will require a different type of Glass Door. Keep in mind that while Fireplace Glass Doors appear interchangeable, they are not! If your fireplace is a factory built pre-fab, Do not use this firescreen. Check the make and model number of your pre-fab fireplace and consult your dealer for the appropriate Fireplace Glass Door."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality and value. Love the look of these doors against my fireplace. I purchased these doors after seeing them in my brother’s fireplace. They come mostly assembled and what parts need assembly are easily assembled with hand tools. I purchased the Large size doors for my brick fireplace, which is roughly 28H x 36L and the fit is perfect. According to the manufacturer’s sizing information, I could use Medium or Large doors for my fireplace opening. I decided to purchase the Large doors to allow for the widest view into the fireplace as possible. The doors come with a metal spacer that installs under the doors for a taller opening, which I didn’t need for my fireplace, so rather than discard the spacer, I used a construction adhesive and cemented the spacer to the brick hearth at the base of the doors. This gives a nice dimensional look to the doors without obstructing the doors from opening/closing. The fit and finish of the doors is very good, and when properly screwed down to the lintel bar, they are solid and don’t move. While not air-tight, the glass doors serve to prevent cold air from entering my home as well as heat loss up the chimney significantly better than a spark screen alone. While the fireplace is in use, the manufacturer recommends the glass doors be open to prevent damage from heat. A secondary set of doors constructed of metal mesh screening nestled behind the glass doors remains closed while the fire is burning to safely contain sparks and burning embers in the fireplace without obstructing view of the fire. It also serves to keep young children and pets out of the fireplace while the fireplace is in use. These doors come in a variety of styles and finishes to coordinate with your style of home. My fireplace is a focal point in my family room and receives a good amount of use in the winter, for heat but also for ambience. I am very pleased with these doors and recommend them to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very sleek look Love the glass doors. Arrived in perfect shape and on time. Installed and works as we expected. The individual doors swing out past my hearth but that's not a problem. They each measure 24" tall x 18" wide. I think we will replace the handles with some brushed nickel ones to add a pop of color. So glad I chose these over the trifold ones. The price was very reasonable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Highly recommend! I bought this screen right before Thanksgiving. It arrived quickly! With a few minor modifcations to fit my fireplace, the installation was done in less than 2 hours. It looks gorgeous! I could not be more pleased! I even gave my parents Christmas cash toward a new screen for their house. They got the Fillmore, and are quite pleased. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that the paint was chipped off the corners of the inside screen doors. It is something that only shows if the glass doors are open, and I will pick up some paint to touch it up someday. My only advice is to find someone who has installed these before, or someone is savvy with making modifcations for installation purposes.
